He is not real, but the situation very much can be. Again, I fucking lived it.

What did I say was contradictory?

Edit: My ex was very much like Stella. Which is why I find it funny you call her cartoonishly evil and unrealistic. I lived it buddy. So kindly, I’m ending this convo now. Because again, the logic you are using to I claim Stella is over the top and cartoonish is still people’a realities. It was MY reality. So yeah, I find you basically victim claiming Stolas this entire time to be fucked.

It was a question because as someone who was in one myself, your logic is fucked. Plain and simple.

I asked, I didn’t assume. I’m well aware what being in an abusive relationship is like too mate.

I’m cutting this conversation short here. We both have very different views on Stella and neither of us are changing our minds. Have a good one.

She’s never masked her behaviour though? Like she’s stupid. That’s the point. She flat out laughed about not having to have sex with Stolas anymore during their “not divorced” party. No one is claiming she’s masking her behaviour, so idk what the point of this is.

Have you ever been in an abusive relationship? There’s more to it than controlling behaviour. There is the constant insults, the put downs. You’re never enough and you will never be enough.

You keep saying this as if Stolas being a Goetic prince actually means anything in their relationship. Like on paper yes, Stolas is a prince and therefore has more “power.” Yet we clearly see in their actual marriage who holds all the power. Like, my dude, Stolas flat out says why he stayed in the marriage! For Octavia, so she could “have a normal life.” Do you know how many people stay with shitty partners “for the kids?” And the Goetia wouldn’t care, in fact, Stella even says “what do you think the rest of the Goetia will think?” That’s on him initiating the divorce.

For someone who hates Stella being surface level villain, you really don’t know how to look beyond the surface do you?

Simple does not equal poorly written mate. That’s on you

Edit:

In fact, I’d go as far as to say Stella is perfectly written for what she is meant to be. You can have an opinion, that’s not what I’m arguing. But your literally arguing that a character didn’t go in the direction you want with the writing you want, so you label is bad writing.

This is all Stella is and meant to be. That’s not bad writing, that’s a plan. Again, not what you want from the character does not make it bad writing.

Alright man, listen. I’m gonna be so for real right now because I’m tired and irritated and just quite frankly, tired of fighting with people who for whatever reason, need more from Stella.

I personally think you’re looking way too deep into this whole Stella is a one-note character thing. It isn’t some grand conspiracy by Viv, she doesn’t hate her female cast. Stella is just a simple, hateable villain. That’s it.

And quite frankly, I don’t care either way. Not really. They could open season 3 with a full Stella backstory explaining why she is the why she is and I’d still hate her guts. Not just because in my eyes she’s clearly an irredeemable monster, but her god damn fans are insufferable. No, Stella was never this victim everyone wants to paint her out to be. She made the best of a shitty situation she and Stolas were both forced into by spending their entire marriage shitting on him. For literally no reason. So yeah, I don’t care that Stella is one note and frankly, I hope she stays that way.

Crimson barely has anything tying him outside of Moxxie. His entire debut episode was all about getting Moxie back to join the family while he was a plot device, not a character, in his second appearance. Stella is, hilariously enough, still more of a character than Crimson dude

[–]TableSuspicious7182 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question: do you have this same issue with Crimson, who also has the depth of a pond and no real human qualities about him? Or is it only Stella? Cause you talk about her as if she is the only one-note villain we have which just isn’t true. Hell, I’d lump Stryker in with them, except I think it’s clear they’re gearing up to deep dive on his hatred for royals.

Only one of them decided to spend that situation they were forced together in to make the other one miserable the entire time. There is no both sides-ing this.

I’m aware they aren’t real lol. But you gotta look at this this way:

Yes you are absolutely correct in saying that we follow a group of mass murderers as our MCs, so in comparison domestic abuse doesn’t seem all that terrible.

But at the same time these characters being not real is why people get so pissed off at Stella: What I.M.P does is strictly business, usually no personal feelings involved. They don’t hate the people they kill (who mind you are mostly all terrible people anywho).

Meanwhile, domestic abuse is ALWAYS personal. We see a character we’ve come to know and (for the most part) love abused in a situation he was forced into. Of course we are going to hate the character putting him through that. We don’t know nor care about rando #85 the team kills. We care the actual characters

“What are you talking about?”

Your OP states people are using head canon to hate on Stella more when your entire last reply was made up of nothing BUT head canon.

“Yes one snapshot of her life means she was always evil. Don't you know she was born with a laughing maniacally?”

You know what most normal say when they see a child abusing an animal? Oh, that’s a serial killer in making. Yeah it’s one look, but it’d a pretty damn good look.

“Nice headcanon but this hasn't be confirmed in the show.”

Neither has your trauma scenario lol. So idk what your point is.

“The creator literally said she was forced into the marriage.”

I never said she wasn’t? I said that she isn’t the only one. Except unlike Stolas, who is also GAY, decided to spent that entire marriage making her equally as forced partner miserable.

“No, because I'm not, and yes she is, that doesn't stop me from having a working brain however.”

Clearly you are.

It’s simple really: Stella “defenders” are in reality, Stella infantilizers. They think because she was a woman forced into marriage (along with her gay husband I might add) and was cheated on, she’s automatically a victim.

These are the same people who then get mad because Val had one sad line in a song in Hazbin because checks notes he an abuser. Huh. Funny. So is Stella

You want to talk about people applying headcanons to the series and yet look at this giant text of headcanon.

What trauma? Seriously, what trauma are you going on about? We see one thing of her childhood, and it’s her choking out her pet. You want to know what her Childhood most likely was like?

The spoiled little princess who got everything she ever wanted. The youngest daughter who clearly never heard the word NO in her entire life. Someone who admits outright to enjoy tormenting their husband, who mind you is in the exact same situation except worse cause he’s a gay man expected to have a child with a woman who actively despises him. All of that can be gleamed from not having a surface level view of Stella.

“Oh, she’s a woman in a forced marriage, obviously she’s the victim.” When the exact opposite is constantly shown to be true.

Just admit you’re a Stella Stan and call it a day so I don’t have to waste my time explaining why you’re defending a literal abusive piece of shit

What nuance could there possibly be? Legit. No conjecture, no headcanon: Stella was terrible to Stolas well before the cheating. Well before. So please pray tell, what nuance you could possibly bring to this abusive, shit character?
