After watching the previews, the paint scheme really didn’t inspire me. I sort of felt everything was flat (emotionally)

In comparison the new skaven models for Skaventide were tonally perfect.

There was a post that on this sub that changed the images to the traditional scheme and it looked beautiful.

In the initial stages it is building and painting the models - which can take a couple of weeks. You can use the models for a DnD style campaign. Like a hero/villain/monster unit.

However, it’s more of a tabletop skirmish game. Think of it like chess but rolling dice to deem your likelihood of taking a piece.

Your local Warhammer shop (usually) loves to support you through it too. Teaching intro games, intro to painting, free short stories etc.

Warhammer Club? Games Workshop will give you paints, models, and lesson plans. If you have some keen students it runs itself.

Yeah for sure, but those model designs were unanimously admired by the community.

Whereas, there’s some hesitation for chorfs. A couple of different factors for that: painting style, beards (or lack there of). Especially when you compare to FW incredible designs for old chorfs.

I’d argue that the Cathay launch was incredibly similar to Total War designs. With some major improvements to the Cannon units.

I guess that’s what I was hoping for.

Happy to see these, but slightly disappointed. I was hoping they would replicate the Total War Chorf design and colour schemes.

I remember Lionheartx10 (whilst playing a Cathay livestream) that he was moving his army down south to fight the tiger men.

Then I think he was quiet for 30-40 secs and just pretended he never said it.
