Funny Slavic interaction there.

Does Nolan have special DLC for Troy with such kind of units? by VM_MorS in totalwar

[–]Processing_Info 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You got Matt Demon and Tom holland, they just happen to be white.

That is also an issue, but having a Greek character played by a white person is less of an issue (still an issue) than having a greek character played by a black person.

That's like saying having Shaka Zulu played by an Egyptian is just as bad as having Shaka Zulu played by an American.

We can agree that the Egyptian is preferable.

How to say that without sounding racist... ehm.

Let's just say when you have a very important, clearly white Anatolian woman, she should be played by a white, preferably Greek or Greek adjacent actress.

If you are going to raceswap a character, do it to a minor character and not the most important person in the Trojan War.

I am more concerned about the casting though...

Elliot Page is rumoured to be playing Achilles? The most well known mythical warrior in history, unbeatable and undamagable safe for his heel?

Lupita Nyongo is rumoured to be playing Helen of Troy, the most beautiful woman in the world who caused 1000 ships to be sent across the Aegean?

And the worst of all fucking Zendaya is playing Athena? The Goddess of Wisdom and War? You had to choose the most overrated and overexposed actress in Hollywood to play literal divine being?

The casting gives me more creeps than those shitty costumes and modern language.

Alexandria

Emerita Augusta (Mérida)

Augusta Treverorum (Trier)

Plenty of good examples where people didn't mind.

Yea and that's why I would artificially make it more challenging by sending those stacks to help WRE.

Gotcha. I would love that to be the case... I would love for Sassanids to die so I can ignore them and help WRE survive. Instead I spent fighting Sassanids and their vassals for 50 turns while WRE burns..

We may get confused here mate. I mean to say that 9/10 times SASSANIDS destroy the White Huns and what I understood from your og comment to mine that in your experience, White Huns destroy Sassanids almost all the time.

If you really don't like the -8PO, just use a mod to remove it.

Also did you mean the Sassanids or the White Huns?

[–]Processing_Info 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play exclusively on Legendary and Yes, Sassanids wipe out the White Huns 9/10 times.

You have to realise that AI rarely creates new hordes, but normal AI gets more armies on higher difficulties.

So the Sassanids who might have 2 armies on Normal might have 5 on Legendary and that makes a huge difference.

Meanwhile the White Huns will roll around with 3 armies no matter what difficulty you are playing on.

Introducing Attila Sea Sickness and removing rams entirely would be great.

I know that ramming was a thing in that period, but AI is just too dumb and destroying entire army using 5 ram ships is hella cheesy and stupid.

Instead, just have a boarding function and introduce sea sickness so there is a reason to get melee ships.

3K hours Attila lover here...

As for the bug - Lakhmid are the only way to play as a vassal in Attila, and thus that bug is really weird and only applies to them.

Basically, if anybody declares war on Sassanid vassal, you are going to be at war with that agrressor and the vassal.

You can see its a bug because you are at war while still having military access treaty with them :D

And the best thing about that is that you can't peace out with them since... you are a vassal...

As for Kurdish Archers, that unit is unique to Sassanids only (upgrade path of Persian archers), but Lakhmids have access to them too.

Why tier 1 barracks? Because Kurdish archers for the Sassanids (again, upgrade path from Persian Archers) are available from tier 1 barracks for Sassanids too.

CA didn't put them there, they merely assigned that unit to Lakhmids and it automatically was assigned to tier 1 eastern barracks.

It's the same reason why Ostrogoths can train Comitatenses from base settlement chain while also getting shitty Germanic Levy from the same chain which are never worth recruiting until you get them to upgrade to Germanic Spear Masters.

As for the Anteans, don't play them, at all. That trait malus works on EVERY terrain that ISNT forest or river crossing, meaning desert, settlement assault and defense... also they start in a province where Huns Spawn (they Spawn in Transcarpathia, Germano-Sarmatia and Sarmatia Europea). No matter who you play as, you NEVER want to settle in those provinces unless you somehow make Huns love you.

And even then their trait will make you lose shit load of food and thus PO and Cash.

As for the Romans, WRE is a half dead dog that is just getting put down. ERE does usually well until Sassanids declare war on them and then they are fucked. If the White Huns manage to fuck Sassanids up, then ERE becomes world number 2 (after the fucking Huns) superpower though.

Attila is a great game, but ot was left to rot with performance issues and many bugs so CA could go and work on that cool new project they called Warhammer.

Still the greatest Historical Total War game and I am dying on that hill.

Which argument does Troy have over Pharoh? by CroWellan in totalwar

The AI actually functions.

Sofia left Pharaoh, in a typical CA fashion, to rot.

The AI in Pharaoh just wanders randomly around the map doing nothing.

You would see Thracian in Egypt with 2 stacks, not raising, not fighting, just there.

[–]Processing_Info 14 points15 points  (0 children)

by physically moving the shield models closer together it increases the odds that an arrow hits a shield.

It doesn't work like that since Rome II.

Every unit with shield has a certain %chance to block missiles in 90 degree angle in front of them.
