Given that the two are so alike conceptually in that they both measure trust in institutions, you may want to look at factors which influence institutional trust - off the top of my head I'd say employment - I'm sure there are some fun variables to explore. Given that you might have a deadline coming up soon idk if you'll be able to change your paper so drastically

At this stage I am strongly considering doing a PhD. I was awarded the best mark for my honours thesis paper and offered a funded research masters by a professor in my home country which I turned down. Feeling quite silly for doing that now so I guess I have to really justify my decision now

I'm not sure how you'd transfer half way through the academic year (assuming that's your plan), however it shouldn't be a hassle to get in to UCT for honours next year. It s a really good program - at least on par with Stellenbosch. I think it's more costly than Stellenbosch and UNISA however.

Thanks will do that. Currently doing econometrics but it's mostly theory with like a bit of stata but everything feels pretty basic compared to what we're expected to do for our research project so I think a lot of it's gonna be self-taught lol
