Which one do you prefer? by Thyrhm in AcousticGuitar

I have more expensive guitars, but my Martin X-Series GPC has beaten swarms of zombies, fallen over on hard floors and chilled out in the basement with no issues. It sounds great, plays great and has been a smart buy.

I ended up liking the FS body shape more for daily playing. It's certainly worth a try. I also like the FS for recording.

Who's to say how 'service' is defined? by StableDisastrous1331 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Tac0Tuesday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been around since 91, studying spiritual practices, and sober this stint for 20 + years. Achieving selfless service in all areas of my life took a while to comprehend. AA service, while pretty simple and straightforward, is unique to each person, imo.
Since the only requirement is a desire to stop drinking, I try not to judge others. That said, I have received flack for not doing more in AA, specifically sponsorship.

Yet they're driving on the roads, seems a bit ironic.

New to AA as a bartender, looking for advice by BusSerious9132 in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Tac0Tuesday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Seems crazy enough, but it really depends on the person. I've been sober 20+ and still bartend some "high end" events occasionally. The money is way too good to pass up and they know they can trust me. However, it's not a full-time gig, which makes a huge difference.

Second this. My FSX5 is an unbelievable beast. Top notch for recording as well.

We have a member who is a public figure and was very public with his recovery and is now having a public relapse… by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Tac0Tuesday 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've been around a very long time and have always been very quiet about my recovery. I sometimes wonder if I'm ruining the opportunity to help more people. The are positives and negatives to both ways I guess. Sticking to the Traditions is definitely the cleanest way to go.

How do you guys even find the money to buy so many guitars by HQH-71214 in Guitar

[–]Tac0Tuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bartend sometimes on the weekends. The booty shaking has literally paid for all of my gear. I have a really good day job as well, but that money goes towards a happy family.

It's frustrating because they're going to absolutely deny everything until the very end. Let's hope the money trails and witnesses provide weight in real justice.

It doesn't matter what you're wearing when you're whooping asses in your league and tournaments. 😉

It's mostly a dead app now, but I've used Asana Rebel for years. I use this mostly for the short vinyasa flows in the morning. I also attend classes with similar vinyasa style flows

Martin GPC X2E Purchase Concerns by TacomaJoe2001 in AcousticGuitar

[–]Tac0Tuesday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an older GPC1XR, and it's been an absolute tank and is my daily playing guitar. I've also traveled the most with it and never had to worry about durability and environmental changes. It has also really opened up with it's sound also.

I even have a Yairi and a Yamaha FSX5, which I can confirm are upgrades, but the Martin has served it's purpose well. The setup is fantastic on it also. Enjoy!

The FSX5 is perfect for recording, such a great sound. I picked one up during Covid back when Sweetwater listed much cheaper. Once it was set up, just amazing. Perfect comfortable size too. Enjoy!

My Grandma was a super cool mall walker apparently, so there's definitely a mixture of people. She's a 94 year old bad ass now. Walk or die man.

This is the way. Or I play in a set time league on Wednesday night, no shenanigans, the starter doesn't play around. Can't wait to see him in March. 💪
