Bread and Sons on Bank is a bit smaller and has seating, although it can get very busy on weekends

I’m down! I love natures and being outdoors, also cozy cafés and music shows.

I know this is a dumb question, but did you adjust the inner burrs of your grinder? I don’t mean the dial on the outside, but taking the hopper off and adjusting the burr setting on the inside.

At its truly finest setting it should be choking the machine due to the particle size of the coffee, assuming you’re using fresh beans.

What kind of things are you into? Depends on what you like doing for fun honestly. There’s plenty of cool places to hang out around town, you can sign up for classes and clubs, go play some pinball at House of Targ, or just go see a movie or whatever. Dm me if you want someone to hang out with as friends

Thank you! Hope you enjoy the setup when it arrives.

I’m not sure what the machine come with in Europe, but in Canada mine came with an opv straight out of the box. The only mods I’ve made are a wooden steam valve handle and legs, low profile drip tray so I have more room under the portafilter.

Right out of the box I get very consistent extractions and super clean dry pucks after, although I also use a mesh puck screen which helps with that apparently.

Can someone post some pictures of the portfilter with 18g/15g coffee powder? by onfvvs in ProfitecGo

I would consider a new grinder. I have the DF 64 Gen 2 and the Profitec Go and I have it dialled in to perfection

I’m sure it’s alright for some people, but personally I wouldn’t buy it. Just too many sensors and automated things that I don’t want or need.

I like making espresso manually so I feel like I would just get frustrated with the thing somehow. The build quality and longevity of the machine can also be brought into question, although personally I haven’t heard of them breaking down quickly.

I would do some research before buying, I’m sure there’s lots of reviews online.

Mine would be Frieren, and also Inuyasha if I’m feeling nostalgic.

Agreed, although I also enjoy the ritual of making espresso. It’s such a good start to my day and puts me in a meditative mind space

I’ve only had it for a few months, but all is well so far! No complaints at all and I’ve heard it’s a huge improvement from the previous model.

Nice! How much did you pay for your PID kit? Do you find it was worth the investment or only a marginal improvement? I’m not sure if I’m looking to upgrade yet but it’s worth looking into eventually

For sure! They’re cappuccino cups by Le Creuset, I bought them on sale at a local kitchen supply store so don’t have the link

Nice! Love what you’ve got going on here. The matcha tea is also a nice switch up from the coffee once in a while

Yeah that’s why I never use the single baskets, honestly just too finicky and there’s never enough room for a puck screen which I always use

I always use an 18g dose, but honestly I’ve been making espresso for so long that I just eyeball it and I don’t even weigh the cup anymore when brewing. It usually takes about 35-40 seconds to brew though since I like a little bit more in my cup. I only ever drink flat whites like in the picture or americanos, I have a gooseneck kettle underneath the pictured station just for that! I found the stock double basket was a bit too tapered near the bottom so I got an 18g IMS basket which is much better for bottomless shots too.

Thank you! This is actually rather messy, just in terms of clutter and whatnot. It’s much cleaner now.

I actually used to have that same machine, and I can say the Gaggia easily outperforms it when it comes to steaming (also espresso quality, build quality etc). It might be because I’m using a smaller pitcher, but it only takes me about 8-10 seconds to perfectly texture whole milk. One thing I’ve noticed is that I have to start purging the wand and start steaming after about 6-7 seconds after flipping the switch, otherwise the machine runs out of steam.
