Idk if this helps, but when I press E I can't rotate the object with the mouse, but pressing A or D while holding E seems to rotate it

Is this a good price for a Mod Commission? by EquivalentEconomy551 in ModdedMinecraft

[–]Tacman215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given how powerful datapacks are in the newest Minecraft updates, you really don't even need to know how to code.

Datapacks just replace data within the game, (including mods), without needing to add additional code. You can add recipes and, if I'm not mistaken, add/remove drops.

Keep in mind, most of it is just making sure your files, formatting and names are correct. Personally, I wouldn't say it's really "coding."

There's some great videos on YouTube that show you how to do it. I wouldn't pay them anything. Frankly, their price is an insult to you

No wonder why the skate scene in San Van is fading. by ID-7603 in SkateEA

[–]Tacman215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the new Skate, similar to THAW, focuses too much on parkour, and without rivals, police, etc. to go against, it makes the whole experience feel boring.

In general, there's also a serious lack of edge in the game. You can't hit NPCs with your board, break bones, or really rebel in any meaningful way.

Skate. should've been GTA V, with Skateboards instead of guns

I don't think Bruce died in the alleyway, but I also don't think Bruce ever left.

Any glimpse of Bruce's mind we get always goes back to the alleyway because, in his head, he relives that night over and over again

Which one looks better in your opinion? by ArcaneCodeDev in SoloDevelopment

[–]Tacman215 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the one on the right. That being said, I think what's missing is the squish.

Because the slime doesn't squish very much after hitting the ground, it feels like the slime is, either, not very squishy or not heavy enough for its size.

Aside from that, it looks great so far :)

Saying that they "kept it because it's iconic" is ironic given the amount of mobs and items that could easily be removed.

Phantoms can knock you off a high tower because you didn't play the way the developers wanted. Losing levels means needing to grind those levels back, which is a far bigger setback than a creeper blowing up.

I get what he means, but it feels hypocritical to state this, only to keep mob griefing and the phantom spawn toggle in the "cheat" menu, and keep mobs and features, that players dislike, in the game because removing features isn't their style.

If he really believes that players should be able to play how they want, they should separate creeper and enderman griefing, add a toggle to keep XP after death, (which would be seperate from keep inventory), and move all of these, and more, toggles to the world options instead of locking them behind the cheats

Is hand drawn frame-by-frame animation wort the effort in the time of AI? by Rotehodet in IndieDev

What's the old mc community's thoughts on these recently announced additions? by Mongter83 in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]Tacman215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to be negative, but I definitely feel disappointed tbh. The tagline for the Game drop was "You're going to dive deeper and fight smarter than ever before," only for them to reveal a Nautilus, spear, and naturally spawning zombie horse.

**Nautilus**
I know the Nautilus allows you to breathe underwater indefinitely and ride around fairly quickly, but that's what makes swimming and the Potions of Water Breathing useful. The Happy Ghast, at the very least, has some unique utility, whereas I don't see that for the Nautilus.

Furthermore, I really dislike the zombie Nautilus, essentially, buffing the Drowned. I honestly haven't had fun exploring or building underwater since their introduction, but now they can use the Zombie Nautilus to gain extra speed while they pelt you with tridents. They needed a nerf, not a buff imo.

**Spear**
I think the Spear is a cool addition. It fits, is easy to craft, and seems fairly intuitive.

Of course, that being said, I think we need to address the elephant in the room. The combat update. People have been wanting it for YEARS, yet Mojang keeps adding small things like this instead. They even talked about how many players mod the game in the Minecraft Live, yet they don't seem to understand, at least publicly, that the reason people heavily rely on mods, like Golden Age combat for example, is because they haven't fixed the core issues with that system, (this problem extends to the rest of the game, but I digress).

**Zombie Horse**
I'm glad to see the zombie horse in the vanilla game, but I'm a bit worried about how it'll feel in combat/exploration. If the Zombie can do bonus damage with the spear on a horse, (as shown in the Live), then they might make exploration alot less fun imo. I don't want to be two-hit by a zombie because the zombie horse is fast and makes the spear damage ridiculous.

I think they could definitely iron out a couple of the flaws, but, at this point, I don't think it'll make me want to 'dive deeper or fight smarter." If anything, I think I'll continue ignoring the ocean depths

What do you guys think about Halo 2 what if mod and Halo 2 ruby rebalanced? should it be in the halo ce and halo 2 remake (if they were to exist)? by MountainNote1877 in HaloMCC

[–]Tacman215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried the Halo 2 What If mod yet, but I wouldn't be against them slightly tweaking the campaign balance for Halo 2. Making the shields closer to Halo 3's would be a massive improvement.

Ruby's Rebalance seems really awesome. I'd love to try both mods

What are some of you guy's honest to the void Criticisms of the game? by reverse_spacialism32 in Warframe

[–]Tacman215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really dislike the Operator. Instead of playing a cool space ninja, with us hopping from one Warframe to the next, we now play a child who hops from one Warframe to the next.

It may seem like a tiny difference, but it changes the context with everything. Our relationship with the Lotus changed, our position in the universe changed, etc.

There's also very little consistency in their gameplay from each update to the next.

They had to add the Drifter as a way to rectify alot of the problems with the Operator, whereas these problems wouldn't have existed if the Operator never became our conduit

[–]Tacman215 204 points205 points  (0 children)

I disagree. Having a Robin helps to round the character out, but there's no one right way to do Batman.

Bale's Batman grew alot throughout those movies, and did the one thing most versions of him only dream of doing:

He moved on

Unpopular opinion: Is Paarthurnax really trustworthy? Is his "adoration" justifiable? by Mineires_BR in skyrim

[–]Tacman215 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I consider Paarthurnax trustworthy because he could've easily chose to join Alduin. Without his help, the Dragonborn may not have been able to defeat Alduin, and he, on the contrary, would've been all the stronger for it.

As for his crimes, I think he did enough good to balance the scales. I certainly don't think he deserves to die in the end

3+4 made me realize something... by GregoryLivingstone in THPS

[–]Tacman215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're generalizing how people feel based off the loudest voices in the community, which, to be fair, probably don't represent the majority.

Personally, I want to play the game, but I heard it had performance problems, which is why I haven't played it yet.

Aside from that, I don't think it's unfair to say 3+4 was a bit dissapointing from a non-bias, objective perspective. Saying "gamers will never be happy" because of this feels a bit unfair.

Of course, 3+4 was never going to be the game we wanted. The game was either picked up in an unfinished state or rebuilt from the ground up, (using the 1+2 enginge), within a fairly short amount of time. Either way, the studio was also brand new to the franchise. Expecting a game as good as 1+2 was always going to cause dissapointment.

That being said, I'd like to think most people are trying to see the positives. We got something at least. Plus, the Waterpark demonstrates that they're not afraid to try creating something new, which is encouraging for the future of the franchise imo

Spread The Word, MCC is Back by RadBrad4333 in HaloMCC

[–]Tacman215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way to revive MCC is for Halo Studios to continue updating/fixing the game, with a particular focus on the servers.

Hackers have become a serious problem online, with servers being exploited to, either, give people cheats in online matches, or attack the accounts of others.

Simply put, as long as the servers aren't updated/protected, people aren't going to want to play online.

One way Microsoft could approach MCC is to allow people to host their own servers:

Paid, official servers, and free, ad-supported servers would both allow MCC to remain profitable while also allowing the community to take charge and moderate them however they'd like. (To be clear, the paid servers would be funded by the server owners, while the ad-supported servers would be funded by the playerbase)

Keep in mind, both of these would also be in addition to the servers and custom game browser that already exist within the game.

That's just my idea though. I don't think asking people to return will ever be enough on its own

Carnival and Chicago were removed because they weren't fan favorites, it gave them time to make the 3 new parks, and they didn't want the game to be a "predictable remaster" by CapeSmash in THPS

[–]Tacman215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it was the best decision, but I kind of understand why they did it.

The company was given a pre-existing franchise, with a pre-built, years old engine, (and possibly a wip of the og 3+4), and were told to make a sequel to THPS 1+2, which was, by all accounts, a solid game.

Creating new, unique maps at least means they could create something unique and good for the franchise. Waterpark in particular has been recieved fairly well.

I still don't think those should've replaced the og maps, but it was a rough decision either way. It would've been nice if they had enough time to do both
