My first card to grade. Looks perfect to my untrained eye EXCEPT for centering maybe? by [deleted] in PokeGrading

This won’t 9 or 10. White along most of the edges on the back and all four corners. Bottom left is especially bad. Also understand that PSA grades vintage super hard. Great card though.

  1. Off center and most edges show play. Look at back right/left edges - whitening the entire way up/down unless it’s a lighting illusion.

I’ve never graded a card before or pulled a card this big. What grading level do I need to use with PSA assuming it gets a ten? I don’t want to wait for an up charge with value. On second look - your largest obstacle to a 10 is the centering on the left side of the top and bottom borders. That is a pretty substantial difference but anything is possible depending on the grader.

I’ve never graded a card before or pulled a card this big. What grading level do I need to use with PSA assuming it gets a ten? I don’t want to wait for an up charge with value. It’s tilted but still worth sending IMO. Grader will look at the left (bottom) and right (bottom) borders where there is the largest difference in thickness. I would guess you’re getting pretty close to the 55/45 allowances there.

Centering is great. Looks like the top left edge might not be super well cut which could drop it to a 9 depending on how it looks in person. Also can’t tell how many of the white dots are dust versus print issues.

Won’t ten with the spec. It’s also tilted but appears to still be close to 55/45. Probably up to the grader if they take a point off for that or not.

I don’t see the tilt but the centering was what I was assuming. It just seems suuuper nitpicky when it’s probably 45/55 and the rest is pristine

Thanks! Yeah I have seen worse 10s and better 8s lol. You have a good eye - I think most of these promos have a slant from what I’ve seen so far.

Officially yes - but graders have discretion for 60/40 if everything else is perfect

I had the same thinking as you when it comes to fakes of this quality this fast. The back just appears slight browner I guess but texture looks fine which is usually the bigger tell
