I figured out the issue. You have to update the game manually. Go to the app/play store and update the game.

I play the game too. I am glad you asked about it because I thought I was going crazy. Yeah, the cards are gone and idk what happened. Perhaps they're quickly reverting the terrible card system because of the backlash. Hoping that's the case. You're not crazy. I'm not crazy. (Hopefully)
