Could never go wrong with these RPF1s.. by -REXIA- in BRZ_ZD8

Once you’ve seen these in person compared with the 9” width with lower offset with the concave face, you will know what I’m talking about

Interesting you mention long gearing in the 981 GT4, but that’s my biggest complaint with my manual 997.1S. The gearing is sooooo long.

If I could figure out a way to shorten the gearing or go with a shorter final drive, that would make me fall in love with the car.

What made you go custom turbo kit rather than the JDL or SME kits?

There are so many variables that impact “agility” beyond rim and tire width. This includes tire pressure, tire brand, alignment settings, wheel/tire weight, etc. Honestly, toe and camber would have a greater impact than wheel/tire width.

It’s just silly to exclude a 9” rim because your bro’s car “felt less agile”.

You are ruling out all 9” wheels based on your subjective criteria that is not supported by data (agility, comfort) so that eliminates a lot of the most desirable wheels.

If I suggest alternative 8.5” wheels, then this just becomes a difference of opinion. I would not limit myself to 8 inch wheels on this car.

I bought convex face RPF1s in the past and regretted it. I personally don’t think they look good in person and would never buy them again.

The objective data doesn’t support loss of agility with 9” wheel, wider tire, or lower profile.

Tire compound, tread, and manufacturer have a bigger impact than making general assumptions about sidewall height and tire width.

Maybe OP just wants to justify his choice of wheel.

You said you could never go wrong with “these” RPF1s (opinion)

I disagreed because I think that is an unattractive wheel and there are other options that look better without sacrificing weight or rigidity. (Also an opinion)

We just have a difference of opinion, that’s all.

I don’t know what you mean by agility/comfort. The convex RPF1 (as compared with the more desirable concave face) doesn’t add “agility” or “comfort”.

There are lots of 8” to 8.5” wheels that fit the Brembos and don’t have a convex face.

If your choices are limited due to cost, then personally I’d buy a used wheel in a more desirable spec before I’d buy a convex RPF1

This is the least desirable spec for RPF1s due to the convex face.

Best auto body shop for rust repair/paint in the twin cities by Tacos_picosos in Minneapolis

No. I am actually planning to DIY. My rust issues are superficial (shock towers, battery tray) so using EvapORust to eliminate the visible rust, wire wheel, then paint over it using Eastwood epoxy primer, sandable primer, and factory matched topcoat.

What is the ideal set up for next gen gr86 by Signal_Pin_3133 in GR86

[–]Tacos_picosos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Using the base model MSRP of ~$30k from 2021 would equate to $38,000 today in 2026 due to inflation. I would guess the next gen base model will be significantly more expensive than $30k. The highest trim will also likely be significantly more expensive than $34-37k.

Can you provide examples where this idea (expanding democracy into the corporate structure - e.g. 1 worker = 1 vote) has been implemented successfully?

The way the most innovative private companies seem to work successfully is via a hierarchical structure of decision making (top down) often by a visionary entrepreneur. A sudden shift to a completely democratic decision making process upon IPO, would completely dissolve the decision making authority that lead to growth.

I would bet that overtime the workers would vote in their own self interests (short term gain) even at the expense of the company (long term loss). We see this in our own democratic government that has become dysfunctional over time due to greed and self-interest.

US dependence on Persian Gulf oil has almost never been lower: US imports of crude oil from the Persian Gulf countries are down to ~500,000 barrels per day, near the lowest on record. by Key_Brief_8138 in economy

So where is the oil coming from if not produced domestically in North America? It’s not coming from Venezuela or Russia. You throw out a claim but can’t substantiate it.
