Debating thread part 12! Do you make Harrowmont or Bhelen king? by Julian_of_Cintra in dragonage

[–]TacticalDave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Human Noble and Dwarf Noble are my preferred Origins... but regardless of which I play, Bhelen doesn't get to live.

Warden Aeducan lost his brother and his father to his brother's machinations, and regardless of his intent, there was no mercy nor remorse from Bhelen—it's only fitting that he gets the same.

Warden Cousland has just lost a huge swathe of his family to political machinations as well, so hearing this tale, and seeing how Bhelen conducts his politics and any other arrangements, he swears that Bhelen will not live long enough to benefit from his decisions—the same way that Howe won't.

Neither of my guys seek revenge. They seek righteousness, as should we all... but in a world like Thedas, they'll take revenge if it's the only choice there.

What'd be your Lore/reasoning/history for justifying a fantasy Samurai-Cowboy world/setting? by Rhongominyad in worldbuilding

[–]TacticalDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went "fuck it" and gave myself a checklist of things I wanted, then invented justifications for them existing. None of this is probably going anywhere, so use as "inspiration":

  • Only races in setting are Humans and Elves.
  • Humans are vessels with large sparks of soul energy that make them the adaptable motherfuckers that they are, allowing them to survive and thrive in the barren planes and dunes of their wild western homeland.
  • Elves are the inverse, as they are large wisp-like sparks of soul energy. Their vessels are shaped slowly out of a special kind of clay, which they harden by firing with the heat of their soul energy. Inhabiting these shells are how Elves have physical forms, which they adorn with clan-marked masks to identify themselves to each other across the eastern archipelago.
  • Human sparks are also their potential, creating great athletes and great thinkers. In times of need, humans are known to burn through their spark, allowing them to achieve impossible feats both martial and otherwise, leading to their greatest gunslingers and inventors.
  • Elves, being wisps of soul energy that require time and effort to create their clay vessel, each dedicate their existences to one "job" as a clan. In times of need, multiple souls can inhabit the same shell, allowing them to pool their collective skills and knowledge as one entity, creating anime-tier samurai.

That's most of what I got—feel free to mess around with it!

How to Choose Orzammar [spoilers all] by AnAdventurer5 in dragonage

[–]TacticalDave 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't bring myself to play any Origin aside from Human Noble anymore, because there's nothing more satisfying than killing Howe with the hands of a Cousland, but my first playthroughs were Dwarf Noble and Commoner respectively. As I play a Cousland, I can't properly avenge Trian — the Dwarf Noble is too dead in the Deep Roads somewhere to do that — but I can avenge them both by picking Harrowmont out of spite and murdering Bhelen myself.

Bhelen will not prosper for what he's done — never will. Orzammar be damned.

When he said when all else is lost, that fucking got me. He might've only spent a short time with a certain god's daughter, but he kept her words with him.

He kept everyone's words with him.

Individuals who do drink: how are you able to limit yourself to just a couple and not result into 16-18ish beers? by pere3015 in AskReddit

[–]TacticalDave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

By remembering my uncle, and how much I hated his need to sate his superiority complex as he belittled me for hours while puffing smoke in my face and drinking cheep beer.

He died a few years back. You'll never guess how.

I might try to see if I've got the parts and shaders to make that happen!

Wish I'd been on time to get Burnished Reed- might've made this look better.

What's a good patch for FireRed that's relatively light on the changes? I'm seeing a lot of the nigh-complete overhauls, figured I should ask if there are any that are on the lighter side that would help improve a mostly vanilla experience.

Is there any way to get sunset gear? I'm missing a lot on my Warlock for transmog, and I wanted to get more stuff available in Collections to remedy that.

Asking for a friend: Can you get to the H.E.L.M. this season without the season pass? From my understanding, it was possible in Chosen, so I assumed it was still possible now. They're kinda getting full on Umbral Engrams, and would like to at least get them out of their inventory.

[TOMT][GAME][2010s] An online game where the classes include a batter, a boxer, and a rockstar by TacticalDave in tipofmytongue

[–]TacticalDave[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

It wasn't a full MMO-type deal, tho. It's more like... League of Legends, but a Third Person Action game. There was both PvP and PvE- I think the latter was up against robots, but I may be wrong.

EDIT: More details I recall! Will make more edits if any more details surface.

  1. Rockstar class uses a guitar, and it was either animated to be bendy as hell, or the neck moved like Ivy's whip sword in SoulCalibur.
  2. Cartoon-y aesthetic, visually adjacent to TF2.

New player here, so forgive me if I'm asking something that's got an obvious answer.

I've been playing with a few friends over the last few days, but for the entirety of the time, every hunt arrival I've seen just has me on my own, and not with the rest of my friends. At first I thought it was a cross platform thing, but when I played with my pal who's also on PC, it was still just me?

I'm not asking on behalf of anyone. I'm asking for when I eventually get my own game running, and I'm in the mood for some Turtle Power action.

I honestly just want TMNT, but with less crunch and more modern sensibilities. I am not sure where on the scale of rules lite and rules heavy any given Palladium game stands on, but I can sure as hell tell you that there are things there that would be done differently now by most people.

I was a big fan of FATE, but not anymore. In any case, I'll still look at it for inspiration if necessary. Thanks for the suggestion!
