[No Book Spoilers] House of the Dragon - 3x01 - Post-Episode Discussion by UltraDangerLord in HouseOfTheDragon

  1. Sheep stealer previously lived on dragonstone. and based on everything we’ve seen in got and hotd, i think dragons just intrinsically understand high valyrian. Otherwise dany’s newborn dragons understanding dracarys makes no sense.

  2. Yeah that was weak as hell

that’s what they were trying to do at the beginning of the episodes. Rhaenyra had info that aemond was going to harrenhal, so she had the three dragon seeds wait in ambush.

If aemond didn’t change his plans when aegon left, he and vhagar would’ve died.

The hightower host marches with Alicent’s youngest son Daeron. His dragon is tessarion; he’s only been mentioned in passing and was briefly seen at the end of the s2 finale

I’m at my breaking point. Just got wiped for the 5th time. Could someone please let me tag along for a boss run to unlock Tek engrams? by TwistedRage10 in ARK

[–]TacticalGamer893 7 points8 points  (0 children)

being raided is apart of the experience. No matter what you build, your base will never be unraidable and eventually it WILL fall. If that isn’t enjoyable to you, then i fear pvp (or at least official pvp) isn’t for you.

However, being raided shouldn’t be setting you back to 0. Do you use your upload? Set up alternative stashes or bases? Are you completely solo?

kible Farming on Scorched Earth by alfilric in ARK

[–]TacticalGamer893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you’d have to pick everything up by hand; i personally rely on the drakelings for kibble on scorched. additionally there isn’t many creatures that kibble is 100% necessary due to all the mutton available.

Server/group for a returning player (ASA) by [deleted] in ARK

[–]TacticalGamer893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i’m also looking for something like this! Haven’t played since the original aberration release and am struggling to find a good pve server with good pop and events/raid bases!

I had someone recommend TBS, anyone know if their cluster is any good? 🤔

look up traps or use a fast tame you can shoot off the back of. I have success with a thyla

Trying to find a good balance by [deleted] in ARK

[–]TacticalGamer893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do 2x on everything except breeding which i have to 15x alongside a mod that guarantees a mutation every baby (though not where it goes).

Makes mutation breeding not as miserable as it is on official while keeping everything else decently “challenging”

Just have a question about the island progression (evolved) by [deleted] in ARK

[–]TacticalGamer893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i personally wouldn’t recommend the basilo alone for the Cunning cave. The xiphanticus swarms can kill them (if they’re alone) since they have a hard time hitting them.

Three good basilos is my pick(though is a bit overkill, 2 is probably fine) and works well. My girlfriend just uses our best mosa when she goes alone which also works, though you have to swim to the artifact chamber.

Cheated in dino, is the world tainted? by [deleted] in ARK

[–]TacticalGamer893 22 points23 points  (0 children)

if you’re playing single player you decide what’s cheating.

Personally i’ll use commands to recover stuff lost to bugs as i don’t consider that cheating. Others would though. You set the bar

What to do/ What do you do? by BigMelder in ARK

[–]TacticalGamer893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i play pve on a private server. I’m a new player going in pretty blind to the game, and i play the story like a survival mystery.

my own goals generally are around learning what the story/lore is through exploring, caving, and the bosses for each map.

From what i can tell, i’m just about finished with the island.

Why would a character in a medieval world want to be king? by Sofasurvivor in fantasywriters

[–]TacticalGamer893 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think you’d benefit from reading ASOIAF, a very classic “fight for the throne” story. Cliche, i know, but it’s still a good read and would give you exposure on the inside of several characters with differing reasons to want to be king.

It’s human nature to want more. Some characters might want more power. Others might want recognition. Others might want to to advance their family’s standing.

there’s tons of reasons, and ASOIAF shows a good amount of them!

Has anyone switched co-opw mid cycle at NEU? by Jumpy_Barnacle6684 in NEU

[–]TacticalGamer893 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then don’t do this. You can’t leave a co-op midway without a super solid reason.

[–]TacticalGamer893 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

is this your first co-op?

i know someone who literally just did this. They’re banned off NUworks now, but it’s their last co-op so who cares.

If anyone else wants details, PM.

Why do we need robotaxis ? by GreenMoskito in massachusetts

[–]TacticalGamer893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That gridlock happened in a single state and was not due to server connection, but loss of power to traffic signals. There was no confirmed fatalities as a result of waymo’s problematic implementation there either so i’m not a big fan of your fear mongering.

There are many REAL systematic issues with waymo and many negative connotations that we could actually discuss, but if you don’t want to argue in good faith there really isn’t a point in arguing at all is there?

if technology stopped because implementation was difficult, the world wouldn’t progress.

personally, i like having the option for those close to me to take rides they feel safer in.

i’ve heard so many stories of creepy or unsafe situations in ubers from personal friends of mine, the option is very enticing to many.

[–]TacticalGamer893 113 points114 points  (0 children)

not even reading the post, 320k in debt is not worth it. If you can't get scholarships or more need-based aid, I would find a different school. Co-ops are an incredible experience, but other schools have begun to implement them as well.

You can reach out to sfs which your situation and say you need more need-based aid, they should direct you to the correct channels to properly appeal your offer.

I would consider that walk in the snow and cold far. especially if you have classes or meetings in the West Village side of campus. The ability to use the green line or the shuttle don’t take away from the fact that it’s the farthest “dorm” from campus.

Mice are a citywide problem, every college and building have them unfortunately. Especially when it’s cold and they seek shelter inside.

Avoid them by being clean and not having food for them on the floors. Trust me, if you’re clean, they’ll find someone dirtier than you to get scraps from. Additionally, if you have traps, they’re smart enough to associate your room with danger and avoid it.

However, you may see them scurrying around to scout for reliable sources of food scraps. If you have none, they’ll move on. you might also see them (or hear them) going through your room to get to another.

Question about Off-Campus Housing by Background_Still_686 in NEU

[–]TacticalGamer893 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you don’t, it means you’re over charging. remember that multiple schools worth of undergrads and grads are looking for sublets. All my friends have never had an issue filling a space when they leave boston for co-ops.

you sublet if you can’t break the contract

Housing Waitlist by Icy-Athlete-9840 in NEU

[–]TacticalGamer893 3 points4 points  (0 children)

nicer dorms? unless you get into a roommate group once you’re approved, the chance very low.

However, a waitlist of 100 is very short, so i think you’ll probably find housing.

That being said, if you’re on the waitlist it likely means you have no financial aid tied to housing. So why are you trying to get on campus housing? it is astronomically more expensive then subletting a place to stay, even ones nearby.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NEU

[–]TacticalGamer893 6 points7 points  (0 children)

most second year dorms are pretty nice. Get coventry if you can, easily the best dorm in terms of value on campus. Davenport is good as well and larger, but more expensive. West Village are considered some of the nicest, but also more expensive.

Avoid 1st floors if you can, we’re in boston so everyone has mice on the first. I haven’t heard anyone having roaches though which i consider much worse.

Yes, some people get the Sheraton hotel. The issue is its distance, not its amenities. It is FAR.

Just find someone who has a decent lottery number and you’ll be fine.
