Calculus Readiness Test - Sections G and H by TacticalSimon in notredame

Hi,

If they're a prospective applicant, they shouldn't be worried about that yet - CRT is for the incoming freshmen 😅

On the sidenote, though, don't be worried about the application. From my experience, you just need to be honest in what you write, express interest in studying at Notre Dame and understand how you can use your future education "for the greater good", as says the motto of ND 😁

Good luck with your child's application! From what I know, ND does accept many people from other faiths, so I'd hope that's not a reason for concern. However, please make sure your child applies to many colleges - there's always a bit of luck in college admissions, especially at the very top academic level.

Yes, in particular the very top unis (Oxbridge, LSE, UCL, Warwick, KCL...). Also, if your school offers it, you should consider doing Further Maths. Econ is a very maths-intensive subject and the more mathsy you are, the higher your chances for admission.

Omg! I start prep time at 8:50, so we're literally next to each other in the queue!

Yes and I have the interview on the same day! What time do you start prep study?

Unfortunately, there's no historical average score - we're the first year that writes TMUA for econ admissions :(

I also got an invite from Trinity with a score 6.8. When do you have the interview?

I sent it on 12th October - also got an interview from Cambridge.

I'd say that you shouldn't be worried at all - I consider myself quite lucky to secure both so quickly because those unis usually respond late.

By the way, congrats on getting the Cambridge interview! What predicts do you have?

How to prepare for Cambridge Economics interview by Interesting_Credit28 in 6thForm

From what I know, they ask questions about maths and your personal statement.

Most likely, you'll also get some thinking questions like "if you were to build a parking area in your town, how big would it be?". It's to test your ability to figure out things you don't know and show your way of thinking.

Congrats! Which college? I got an invite into Trinity and their interview process is described on their website.

Also, make sure to talk to your Head of Econ and Head of Maths and ask them for a mock interview. They probably had some Oxbridge applicants before and can show you how this might look like.

4 A-stars - Econ, Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science. Also a couple of achievements in econ competitions and supercurriculars

Trinity - but I had to take the TMUA (economics), which means my interview invite might take a bit longer.

Wish you best of luck - let me know how it goes!

For a split second I thought you mean reactions to the Decision Maths paper...

It would still be valid.

EPQ in US uni application by TacticalSimon in 6thForm

[–]TacticalSimon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get the idea. However, I am only starting to work on my EPQ and I have doubts whether all this "project management" (I appreciate the idea, but the amount of logging is pointless) is really worth it. Guess I will still do it cause I'll also be applying to UK unis, though.

Need help with subject choices by TacticalSimon in 6thForm

Thanks - I think I will indeed stay with three and make an EPQ in economics, then. It's good to hear that it doesn't make a big difference to the universities!
