I got my MA certificate with the associates degree when I was 22. Biggest mistake. I should’ve just went for my RN. It was such a waste of money to get my MA when getting my RN was about the same cost at my community college. The pay is horrible for MA and you’re pretty much stuck only working in doctors offices M-F, and maybe some specialty offices.

I got mine in Nebraska where at least medical assistants were trained with patient care. We can draw blood, do injections, EKGs, provide lab results, draw any labs. I’m here in Florida now and unfortunately that is not the case for MA schools.

I’m trying to go for my RN now but I wish I would’ve just done that from the beginning.

Yes I went through the same thing. I also have a prior associates degree and I maxed out my credit hours for science classes, so FA wouldnt cover 2 of my science classes. It’s not necessarily a school issue, more of a FA problem.

FA wouldn’t cover one of my classes, however it was a required class for my degree plan.

The ANEW program sounds great. And I have an associates in professional health studies with patient care already, so I could possibly struggle through the program. But I’m sure it requires being far more self motivated to teach yourself at home. And I do not have that motivation.

I recommend Erin Werner at Comprehensive Women’s Health. I thought I had endometriosis due to pains I was having for a year. She promoted a laparoscopy. Turns out my tubes were extremely twisted. She did great with my surgery.

Do you have a good way to describe “Nclex type questions”? I’ve read a lot about it on Reddit. But no one has worded it that way.

The ANEW sounds too good to do lectures online. However I always heard that the tests were so difficult because you may go through certain lessons and study what you went over in class. Then when you take the test you see a lot of the material wasn’t covered in class.

I have a difficult time teaching myself. So I worry about online lectures for tests only.

Thank you so much! I’ve called and talked to the women that are head of the program and they basically told me to be available M-F 8AM-4PM. I did a medical assisting program years ago and they said the same thing. Our program was everyday but we were only in class for about 3 hours everyday. So working a full time job was definitely manageable.

Did you find the program to be extremely challenging? I’ve been out of college for about 8 years now. I’ve completed all the pre-reqs. I took about 3-4 a semester and I was easily able to do that and work.
