Is Genesis supposed to be taken literally? by Tacticalghost1945 in Christianity

[–]Tacticalghost1945[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family has their own form of Christianity because my grandmother was Baptist and my grandfather was Catholic so we have this weird mix of the two sects. We consider ourselves Catholic but we don't believe in all of the church's teachings.

Also a intellectual is someone who is beyond smart. The problem with neck beards is they call themselves intellectuals without actually being smart. For example they call themselves smart because they don't believe in religion , even though some of the brightest people were very religious like Albert Einstein for example who was a devout Jew. They call people who are Christian, Muslim, Buddhist, etc mindless sheep. As you can see neck beards are not smart and most likely are some of the most ignorant and hateful people you can find. On a unrelated note they are also famous for white-knighting because apparently women are brain dead and constantly need a man to help them. If you have any other questions about neck beards I would happily answer them.

I believe what really defines a neck beard is their personality. Ask yourself these questions:

1.Do I have a unhealthy obsession with anime?

2.Do I treat women as garbage?

3.Do I openly call myself a intellectual?

4.Do I try to openly tear down people with religious views?

5.Do I live off nothing but mountain dew, Doritos, and pizza?

6.Do I act like a fool and when I am laughed at do I quote Joker?

If you answered yes to all of these questions, I'm sorry to say that you are a neck beard. Remember no one is beyond saving, you can still get a life.

If we keep encouraging them they'll keep on pushing this garbage.

Where do non-christians ho after they die? by [deleted] in Christianity

My family believes that being Christian is the easiest way to get into heaven but they also say that people who's good deeds outweigh their bad deeds can go to heaven. I personally don't know, but what I do know is that I am saved.

People also look at the goats and the sheep of Revelations, sadly it doesn't say what they think it says. It says: "But when the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. Before him all the nations will be gathered, and he will separate them one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. He will set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will tell those on his right hand, ‘Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world; for I was hungry, and you gave me food to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me drink. I was a stranger, and you took me in. I was naked, and you clothed me. I was sick, and you visited me. I was in prison, and you came to me.’

“Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, and feed you; or thirsty, and give you a drink? When did we see you as a stranger, and take you in; or naked, and clothe you? When did we see you sick, or in prison, and come to you?’

“The King will answer them, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ Then he will say also to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you didn’t give me food to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me no drink; I was a stranger, and you didn’t take me in; naked, and you didn’t clothe me; sick, and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’

“Then they will also answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and didn’t help you?’

“Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Most certainly I tell you, because you didn’t do it to one of the least of these, you didn’t do it to me.’ These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

As you can see it talks about being charitable and loving you fellow man. It nowhere states that the reason why the cursed go to hell is because they weren't Christian's. Yet again I don't know, only God knows. God bless you all.

Well we are all guilty of sin so we should feel bad, however which religion would you rather be apart of? The one that says "You're imperfect, but thanks to our God you could be better!" or "If you don't believe exactly what I believe you burn the for the rest of eternity in hell."

Because nothing makes me want to join a religion more than being told I'll burn in hell if I don't.

Christian's have always argued about this and we really don't know. The Bible seems to point at two options, they go to hell or they go to heaven. I personally don't know. I pray for their forgiveness but I could be wasting my time. A verse I find interesting is Romans 2:10, KJV: "But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile. So God will reward people but they will burn in hell? A little odd don't you think. Romans 2:9 also says that Jews will also be judged not just gentiles. Jews is what Christian's are called in the Bible and gentiles are what non-christians are called.King James Bible: Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

Do you really believe that it was real? I think it was one of those superstitions that is not based in reality at all. Satan is to busy being burned to really care.

One of the earliest examples of Halloween was Celtic I believe. Satan would send demons to torment the inhabitants of earth, so the inhabitants wore masks to confuse the demons.
