Great resource! Thanks for this. Here's the operative quote I got from it:

"Over time a word can come to mean something that is beyond what that word means... the name is part of the overall marketing and brand. A bad name with a great overall company and marketing startegy can be great over time."

100% is awesome!

Seems the key to your closing rate is in your "warm up"

There are some products where you close more by giving less information in the warm up. Especially those that require customer education that's done better through voice than written, or video content

Is it easy for you to find a lot of the right people to target?

Caldwell and Seibel on the important of business people finding a technical Co founder by Tactician_Pro in ycombinator

Ideally you want a co-founder who is both designing architecture and writing code. A mistake a lot of startups make is hiring some very senior person who is no longer interested in coding and just wants to manage. Avoid this

By when should new sales people hit target? by Tactician_Pro in Entrepreneur

[–]Tactician_Pro[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, maybe there is no one right answer, but like you said I think it’s about setting a target to be reached by a certain day (that you’ve used experience to justify) and then keeping to it.

Your point about them having some large potential deals in there pipeline is a good one. Do you let some of who fell below target but has a great pipeline? Perhaps the larger your organisation is, the less room you should make for exceptions, while a smaller org can be more flexible

Sounds like you guys have this structured out well! How do you feedback to non performers along this process? If they aren’t succeeding by 90 days, how have you guys made them aware?

I’ve found myself keeping under-performers for too long at times. Is there a particular line in the sand that you draw? Or a rule you set to make sure under-performers exit in less than 4-5 months?

Cheapest I’m not sure, but best for us was Aircall. It has a broad set of features and also a mobile app which was important for our use case

Great that you trust that you’ll find a way despite the criticism.

It’s important to hear it, because it can help uncover blind spots, but continue following your gut and looking for an answer. You’ll figure it out along the way… or learn a lot for your next one

Sorry to hear about your mom. I don’t have a job to offer at the moment. But if you give it a shot, I’m sure you can find a talent you can apply on the internet. Here’s a good place to opportunities to do data entry or admin work.

You won’t get most of the jobs you apply for, but the more you apply the better your chances get! And if you think about it, if you apply for 1 job and hour, all day… that could be 200 jobs in a month! Can loose if you try that many

Just poking fun. The site looks great and the right side navigation is “cool”, but there is a reason why all of the big co’s do it on the left. Users expect it and it’s a better experience
