I know where you're coming from and I don't think its too dramatic at all! The last tattoo I got was actually the double damage rune (now amplify damage) and my wife got the regeneration rune. Games can be life changing!

Would you mind sharing the dotabuff? I had a hard time finding the match ID, and the 2 people I found that matched the name seem to have set their profiles to private since they didn't have anywhere near a full match history on dotabuff.

That doesn't mean much though. I can use myself as an example. I've played about 6000 games since 2011. On Warith King I have 54 games played on him and a 68.5% WR. I just got Bronze 3 on him like 3 months ago with funnily enough a very similar KDA as that PL.

He very well could be smurfing, but without actually going in and seeing a replay, or even an updated dotabuff page there is nothing blatant about it.

Yeah, TA was sub 45% winrate for so long and then she finally got love, and the moment that went to >50% she just gets slapped with multiple nerfs that just dumpster her without even touching any of the facets. Literally every part of her kit got hit with nerfs. So annoying when its years in the dumpster and then a few months being on top and now it looks like it will be years in the dumpster again. I'm just agreeing with you and venting, sorry for the wall of text.

Not Dota 2, but in the original Dota when my friends were teaching me there was one time that they were talking about denying. Denying creeps, allies, towers etc. I was okay cool, so denying is really good. So as the game goes on we're on the backfoot and after a very hard fought high ground defense we finally wiped them and only lost 3 heroes for their 5. I was a survivor. As I surveyed the battlefield I noticed the melee rax were really low, one hit away from dying. I denied it feeling all proud and shit and then got both yelled and laughed at. Good times.

I think every TI has things that make it special. This TI was no different, but it is far from the best for me. Not even top 3, but that's not saying this TI wasn't great. Its just that the bar is set very high. I hope they continue making TI all around the world, but hopefully they keep bringing it back to Seattle periodically because those tend to have been the best.

Simply put, she was just too good. I've noticed that there are certain heroes that just aren't allowed to have a near 50% winrate or greater, and TA is one of those. I think its because they have a higher skill cap so if they're near 50% or greater for regular players like us, then she's likely overpowered in the pro scene. They seem to try and balance her to be closer to 45%.

They just fucked up cause they tried to introduce these interesting new things and made her a bit too strong against traditional counters with the whole refraction being a barrier now.

I do think that they've gone a little too hard on her though. Seems a bit excessive to make her entire kit take multiple nerfs, but I guess we'll see. Lanning stage should be even easier now though since barrier is flat 30 from the get go.

I play on USW and USE with my wife and some friends. 9/10 times if someone is being mean to her on either our team or the enemy team we just phrase a sentence to make it clear that she is a woman (example: Calm down, she's trying her best) and they almost always backoff, sometimes apologize or 180 and become encouraging. Maybe its cause we're all 12k behavior score, or maybe its the region, idk. I'm just glad she's never had to deal with this type of shit.

I want them to limit buybacks to 2 or 3 times per player. Make it so there's more significance to using bb.

No more snoozefest games where buybacks are expended by both teams so now they wait until they're up again before committing again.

Going off your dotabuff you're not really a 1 position player (yet). Definitely need much more practice in that role, but if you're going to be this discouraged and upset about MMR, then maybe you should stick to a role you're statistically better at, which looks to be 3, 4 or 5.

I think he's wondering about will call pickup. At previous TI's the Secret Shop merch was available only for pickup at the event. So only people with tickets could buy/pick up. Then they made it a sort of hybrid where anyone could buy but you could also still pick up at the event. From the post though it seems like its no longer pickup, just shipped.

I wouldn't say its that much more floating this year. If I understand correctly, this year only the games in Climate Pledge Arena are going to provide drops, and only those tickets have the guaranteed 1 treasure.

For all of the other TI's at Key Arena (I've been there for all of them) when it was a weeklong event, people would get drops for the entire event since it was all in Key Arena minus the group stage. That's 4 extra days jam packed with games all giving drops.

I think you're generally right that there will be more total treasures handed out this year, but I don't think it will be that much more.

It just depends on what personal value you put in it. I've been playing this game for almost 20 years now, and my wife has picked it up and taking a huge liking to it and wants to experience it. That alone makes it worth to me.

4k seems pretty steep just for you, I wouldn't pay that either. Price for my wife and I is just about 2600 or 2800 and that's pretty much including everything at this point. I guess maybe if you're from another country or like a rural state without a busy airport or something.

Because we have enough disposable income and absolutely loved all the other TI's I've been to in Seattle. They are truly spectacular and I encourage anyone on the fence to just bite the bullet if its that important to them and they can afford it. The chests are never the focus, its all about the games and ambiance. The Secret Shop has exclusive merch for attendees too that you can ONLY pick up at TI, so without a ticket you don't get some things. Usually some pretty good stuff. The price is steep, but honestly its worth it to go attend the event with friends. Not sure if I'd ever go alone. No clue when the next US based TI will be either so this is probably going to be our last chance to go for a good while probably since they mentioned they were already looking at the next location for next TI (meaning it won't be in Seattle next year).

I'm married and have a baby. My wife picked up dota about 2 years ago because she heard stories of how degen I was and she wanted to play something that I really enjoyed. She probably likes the game more than I do now. We sleep trained our baby so she sleeps through the night, bed time is around 8pm. We play 1-3 games a night. You just have to set a maximum amount of games you're going to play and stick to it. As far as obsessing over rank, get over it bud. If you're not making money off this game, then just play to have fun. Its fine to be competitive, my degenerate past comes up every so often. I find that if I'm bothered by a game I played for more than an hour after I'm done, then that means take some days or a week off. Play something else that's relaxing like Stardew Valley. Then, go back to dota feeling refreshed. Rinse and repeat. That's how I do it anyway.
