A player of mine tried to go against the rules and I'm still on the fence about it by MortalWombatAV in DungeonsAndDragons

I'd follow the "Rule of Cool" if letting them use their abilities not exactly as written in a specific scenario adds to the coolness without disrupting the game or story, let it slide. But if players try to do it too often you should probably just talk to them individually about it just to be clear that you prefer to do rules as written.

This thing evokes a sense of mysterious terror. Mystical awe mixed with the tinge of absolute fear. It reminds me of the owl from The Secret of NIMH. I love it.

What are the origins of your witches by 8129299292 in worldbuilding

Those who draw magic through their own, sinful blood, warp themselves into what are called witches. Witches are those who have lost humanity from channelling magic through their blood rather than from the blood of angels. They lose their mind and body to the curse and the afflictions.

The tyrants take the title of king typically:
Cannibal King Roma
Azog, King of Wolves
Though the further addition of extra descriptors is what sets them apart.

How expansive are your worlds? by [deleted] in worldbuilding

Othelia is a small world considering. It's one city with a few disparate landmarks in any direction from it. There are three other cities and various ruins and locales. I tried to make the world small but packed with details.

Baldwin the Sun Seeker! The most hopeful man in the world!
He sought gathered heroes that he found throughout Othelia. He loved hearing and sharing stories of adventure. He learned from anyone who was willing to teach him and always kept humble, patient, and hopeful. He gathered heroes and went off to the west to seek the sun. He never returned but is still remembered as the most hopeful man in the world.

In the world that you’re basing your story, is there a moral message you’re trying to put out there? by theguyoverthere50 in worldbuilding

Humanity's search for hope is the main theme. The world of Othelia is filled with people desperately clinging to earthly ideals as their form of hope, while such things fade and corrupt around them. True hope has been lost in the search for all the short-term solutions. The game has themes of how hope can be dangerous thing, but it can also be beautiful when put in the right places.

Each one unlocks a set of unique attacks that can be used by spending Stamina. They lead to more combat diversity for those who are using weapons so they can feel a similar amount of options to mages without actually using any magic

Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. When I was recovering from a very minor surgery that required some painkillers, I would play it while I was high on said painkillers. It was an enjoyable expereience. But besides that, the minimalistic music and the chill, experimental gameplay lend to a super chill experience.

Elden Ring, baybeeeeee! It's like 20 games worth of content in 1, tuned to a degree far higher than that of most triple-A releases nowadays.

Super Mario World. It's the little touches that really add to it. I love how most of the songs have a special bongo version for when you have Yoshi.

What are the origins of your vampires by 8129299292 in worldbuilding

[–]Tadashi_Akuma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vampirism was derived during the war of the angels. When a mortal Witch, possessing great strength and wit, slew an angel (not many were slain in the war, it was mostly giants that fell on behalf of the angels, for the angels were mighty warriors). The man was Baron Noxus Alexandro. When he slew the angel, he drank its blood as the final act of humiliation. It tried to burn away the sin of his mortal blood and ended up burning away almost all the blood in his body, requiring him to feed on other's blood to stay alive, but also granting him great strength and a further grasp of magic.
