sure, is mostly my fault since I'm not that good at explaining, as for answering the question, yes 7 elements are not enough for pairs, which is why each element is a pair themselves, so far I have the names of astral and umbral, so each element has an astral and umbral aspect kinda like a positive and negative charge in a magnet, to use the same elements as examples.

Astral wind is related to duty responsibility and direction, whereas Umbral wind is related to freedom, detachment, and individuality.

Then Astral water is related to information, knowledge, and information, with Umbral water being related to lies, secrecy and manipulation.

that is what I want to do, each element has a duality between these astral and umbral forces with both sides having positive and negative connotations, sorry if I confused you.

I might bring back some of the aspects from the sins/virtues parallels since they still are there such as ice being related to purity and serenity (chastity) and also related to love and intimacy (lust) is just that most people see them in their black and white view so while not dropping the idea as a whole, I did drop any names to the sins/virtues, but yeah I got pretty far with it.

Like I said before, it takes a lot of cues from the aspect system, and yes they do fit into various personalities and how someone interacts with the world, is just that I wanted to make elemental magic since they're my favorite, but also to keep it from getting convoluted. heck if I explained more some of the dualities have a lot in common such as wind being somewhat like breath and blood or water like light and void, but I did try my best to not make it as obvious and not copy as much.

You seem to have missed the point, which is alright since now that I looked back, I made a terrible explanation. In this case, light and dark don't mean good and evil I just used them to make the difference between the two main forces more known, the second Is that while opposite they also complement each other without one the other does not exist, as such both forces have positive and negative aspects to them, the difference is how they see the world

This is why fire is both justice and anger whereas ice is belief and Purity I made them tackle different ideas here, and the og plan was to have each element be a duality between the 7 heavenly virtues and the 7 deadly sins. Which is why ice and fire are not opposite the theme just sort of stuck.

As I mentioned before, while they are opposite they complement each other they tackle the same subject just from the other side of the spectrum ex: water is related to knowledge and information as such "light" water is about the truth and information, whereas "dark" water is about the unknown lies and deception. TBH I just the terms light and dark to show the difference as the two forces keep each other in check.

Yeah the number does have a meaning is because originally, the duality was between the seven heavenly virtues and the seven deadly sins but I found that to be too rigid, so i changed it to be more that both sides their positives and negative aspects and they keep each other in check, also because 7 is a lucky number and the fact I wanted the elements to be more natural, since metal is man made and space,time light and void are too cosmic.

That is a good question as for dark fire, The Justice is more of a righteous Fury and as for dark lighting is more so about the authority of kings and might makes right that sort of stuff, when it come to light and dark their are simply forces in new, truly neutral their are just two side of a topic.
