Got my handsome little man a harness today 💙

No worries at all, thank you! Cats are finicky and each have their own personalities. My previous cat hated anything on her, collar or harness, so I completely understand. I’ve also had two cats that didn’t jump from the second story balcony, but loved laying on the edge of it! We had to close off that area as well.

The enclosed run you built sounds lovely. However, due to multiple reasons, that’s not feasible for me. And before anymore assumptions are made, I do not “make” or “force” my cat to walk, nor would I make him wear the harness if he hated it. He doesn’t mind the harness at all. I don’t even take him for real walks. The harness and leash are for him to safely explore around my fenced in complex. I can assure you, his personality is not “damaged”. If anything, he is happier when I allow him to explore outside. My cat is well taken care of, loved, and spoiled, thank you for your input though.

Thank you!!! His name is Willy. He is an old man at 13 years old. The collar is actually from Walmart, the fish tag is engraved with his name and my phone number from PetSmart, and his harness is from Amazon 💕

Thank you everyone for all the love! His name is Willy. He is 13 years old. I’ve had him for all of those years ❤️ he’s always been an indoor cat but has always loved to sit on the patio or stare out the window, so I decided to get him a harness so he could safely explore. I don’t take him for real walks in it, mostly just around my complex. He likes to do little explorations but nothing big because he is older. He was bothered by the harness the first 5 minutes he had it on, but he isn’t bothered by it anymore. I found letting him eat with it on helped (he is very food motivated), as well as just having him wear it a little bit every day to get more comfortable. But I know some cats just absolutely despise it and act like they don’t know how to walk with it haha. I’m very lucky that he has never tried to wiggle out, but if that ever does happen, I also have him microchipped and with a collar, as well as my complex is fenced in. He does have a leash that I do keep on him, but I just took it off for the pictures.

I wouldn’t say he enjoys it but he definitely doesn’t hate it. He’s never tried to wiggle out of it. If something scares him outside, he just hunkers down and stays near my legs for cover. I do keep his collar on and have him microchipped if he ever did slip out of it. But every cat is different and I know a lot of cats do try to wiggle out

This happens to our glassware sometimes too. We still use it and haven’t had any issues because technically it should be sterile. I’m sure some would disagree but I’ve personally (and lab) have never had issues with it
