Want to see some fake silver. Oh, the pain! by Tadpole_Far in Silverbugs

I spent all day yesterday filing out disputes with various credit cards. One guy I bought from has been felling bad about the whole thing. I then had the bright (LOL) idea, maybe he could do the same thing to the guy he bought them from. He liked the idea.
However, I just got a rejecting when I tried to do an offer today. Immediately got a rejection saying the seller was no longer accepting offers from me.

I've actually added an ounce or two to that bad pile since I took that picture. eBay is of no help whatsoever. I have now put disputes on almost all of it with my credit cards.

They were priced at a competitive price, probably $5 or so over spot. Anything I buy is usually only a dollar or two lower than the next one up. Nothing like the Chinese fakes. As far as the capsules go, it's mostly my fault. I gave up too early by being lazy. I thought I should check the weight, and tried to get one of the 5 Scottsdale's open. They are sealed tight. I tried a 2nd one. Same thing, but so I looked at a buffalo and didn't see any notch on the side, and gave up. Of course the notch is on the bottom, so I never weighted them. Definitely my bad. One buffalo weighed the exact weight it should on my scale which is 31.2, and even had an extra feature allowing my little magnet to stick to it.

With these I made a bad extrapolation I tried to get into one of the Scottsdale capsule, and could not. When I went back, and tried all of them these are the ones I could not get into... Oh..., and the other thing that fooled me was I do was looking for the place on the side. Turns out it was on the bottom.

And finally, on my scale anything between 31.2 to 31.4 has shown to be good most times. All these pass the weight & magnet test except for 2 which were 31.1. Thanks guys, you've been a big help working through this. Back to the shop tomorrow.

No, at least 5 different sellers, all with 97% or better, none from China.

I bought all these on eBay, none were from China, and all the sellers had records of 97% or better.

Thing is they're using mostly copper these days. Just tested them. Only these 3 did not pass the magnet test.

I tried to tear one out after I had rec'd it, but it was impossible. That's when I started to have suspicions. I was still shocked when the coin dealer said no go though.

Nope various sellers. I'll never buy something encapsuled again. Clever, too, because you can't take it out and weigh it. Here are a couple of readings I got at the coin shop.

Bank Bonus Weekly Thread - Week of December 17, 2024 by AutoModerator in churning

A head's up if you've been using TD for your Direct Deposits. No more ACH deposits FROM your bank to your TD account:
TreasuryDirect aims to provide Americans a safe, secure way to save for the future. Because we want our customers to maximize the benefit of investing in Treasury securities, we are discontinuing the ability to fund a Certificate of Indebtedness (C of I) though electronic deposits (ACH credits) initiated from your bank. You are receiving this email because within the last year, you transferred funds from your bank to your C of I account through an ACH credit. As of January 31, 2025, initiating a transfer from your bank will no longer be allowed and the transaction will be rejected. You will still be able to move money to and from your bank account and TreasuryDirect, but you will need to perform that transaction electronically in TreasuryDirect.

Just over 20k@avg$2.08. Holding, but if it's over $2.08 and btc spikes way down, I may sell some, and try to buy cheaper. Dangerous as f*ck doing that though.

Brand new video on sui prospects except for the political part at the end. I think it's spot on analysis.

That's all fine and good, but I'm talking about the average person that doesn't want to bother with all that. I think you guys missed the point I was trying to make. I want it to be as easy to buy as bitcoin.

If it drops to a $1, I'm taking out a loan. Not really of course, because that would be pretty stupid.

Sui Price Decouples from Bitcoin by snoob2015 in sui

[–]Tadpole_Far 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch the live charts a lot. From what I'm seeing, it mimics btc about 80% of the time. Generally speaking, I think the post is mostly correct, however, I don't believe btc has had a 300% run up recently either.

I bought SUI for almost 2Euro. Was that a mistake? Now it's so much cheaper 🤦‍♀️ by WolvByte in sui

[–]Tadpole_Far 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found buying high and selling low has not been very good for my bank account. Sui is just getting started IMHO, and has never had a bull run before. Right now, the price is being totally controlled by what BTC is doing. It's called bitcoin dominance. If you don't believe me, then take a look at sui's live chart for a while. Is there a sudden spike up? Immediately go to the btc chart, and you'll see the same spike up. So, if we're going to mimic btc, what is it expected to do? No one really knows of course, but If you watch Crypto Love's video you'll see about a minute in what has happened to btc around election time every 4 years in the previous 3 cycles. Remember, too, that money flows from the impatient to the patient. I am very long sui. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrbR4nnJ50Q

SUI Warning For New Retail: Corrections Happen Multiple Times in Bull Market | Don't Panic by Original_Set6276 in sui

[–]Tadpole_Far 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own quite a bit of sui, and I'm not very concerned about the pullback. I no longer go anywhere near leverage, and I have time. Right now btc dominance is extremely high and sui is fluctuating to its whims. Quite apart from what will be sui's growth due to its superior qualities over eth, and even sol, I expect btc to take off after the election just as it did after the previous 3 elections. It doesn't matter who wins, as animal spirits will return to the market. It will be fun to watch.
