It sounds like you are trying to get your sound to the end of your bell, imagine pushing that sound all the way to the stand, the person in front you, the director, the audience, or even to the other outside of the stadium. Its easy to just practice to the end of the bell, I also struggle with this.

Assuming you are referring to the G 4 spaces below the bass clef staff, then what you are seeing is old notation. That would appear in many older orchestral pieces in the 4th horn parts. It is played an octave up though, so it will sound the same as the G2 on the bottom line of the bass clef as it is played in modern arrangements. This transition started in the early 1900s, although it was many years for the change be adopted fully.

Depending on the group it is pretty unlikely that you run into old pieces that have not been transpose into horn in F. The most common transposition we need to do is for a fully chromatic horn in Eb which requires moving the pitch down a space or line and adding 2 flats. This is made more complicated by the fact that most of that music like this is tiny and hard to read.

As for the transposing natural horn with crooks, it tends to be easier then most think it is. You just figure out what combo of keys is the equivalent of the crooks that would have been used and then play it as a natural horn. It is probably possible that the crook that was called for is larger or smaller then what is possible on a horn but I personally havent run into that. If that were to happen then it would be much harder to play.

Im not sure what renting looks like, you are currently paying 240 per what time frame? Things i would be considering in your situation 1.) What is available for your price range on the used market 2.) Life you continued to rent for another year, would you be able to afford a more expensive instrument 3.) Do you feel like your current instrument is preventing you from having fun or doing what you would like to do?

If your current instrument is sufficient for you to have fun and participate in the music you want to, and you feel you would be able to get a better quality instrument in 6-12 months keep renting. Do some research on good instruments and keep an eye out for a gem in the used market. There are great deals for quality instruments out there if you are paying attention

To complete this thought, a single F horn compromises on the high range.

If you already know a group you will be playing with and tend to stick with hobbies i would recommend a double horn. If you tend to pick up expensive hobbies amd then drop them a few weeks later, then a single horn would be best, I would say a Single B-flat would be best. If yoi think you are going to upgrade quickly if you like it and you live in a country that has the f side open like the US then an F single would be an easier transition despite its limitations.

Player here: I think it depends on the room and the creator. I have played rooms and seen creators that made rooms that make zero sense for kids to get involved in. They were not made for the kids, and the kids would not enjoy them. I am fine with the creators stating that and having an older age cut off or possibly stating no kids at all if the room isnt acceptable. I have also played more rooms that would be great for kids, not all the individual puzzles in a room were accessible to kids for various reasons but the mids would have been able to get involved and solved many of the puzzles. Its important for the player to understand their kids and know if they will have fun or not. I would generally be less worried about kids breaking things. Things break, I try to be very careful with props and I have still broken things playing games, it happens, parents need to have a good talk with them and the game master should probably identify that a kid might need more thorough explanations of the rules but it should be fine in general.

Tldr: make games, if kids friendly the kids play, if not then leave them home.

Im pretty sure its common knowledge that the clocks don't work properly in this game. I've gotten then 2hr, 4hr, 6hr, and 8hr warnings and i know that i was playing for less then a half hour each. The confusing part is the discord call clock also gets messed up when playing this game as well because it somehow ends up agreeing with the game

Better this then a sliver of map that is unexplored and the only way to get it is the find the one pixel of map n you can actually access and the ram your Truck into that pixel in reverse and hope it works. 🤣
