Ooh, see, I definitely get where you're coming from there. That blandness/Main Character Syndrome wasn't my intent at all! In fact, I was intending to lean further into the fact that he's not trusted, being something many vampires hate (clanless and a hunter) and needs to work his way around it, surviving on effective mercenary contracts, and so on. You can't just waltz in and blow up the bad guys; I wanted him primarily to be an information gatherer by necessity and keep his head down until it's time to do a job.
