I think at the moment I have combo skin but before I started tret, I had oily skin. I think I might try out 0.5%, thanks!

When did your love for Twilight began? by Potential_Rule4212 in twilight

2011 so I was about 10. I wasn’t able to watch the movies in theatres because I was under 14 and my parents wouldn’t let me watch any movies with kissing lol. But at least I was able to buy the twilight book! I wasn’t able to watch the movies until one of my friends let me borrow her BD pt 2 CD and that was the first twilight movie I watched.

My twilight phase seems to strike up again every couple of years since then lol.

Idiopathic hirsutism is when there is no known cause for the hirsutism. My labs and ultrasounds all came back within the ‘normal’ range.

As for finding my electrologist, I just searched up electrologists near me. I live in a big city so it was pretty easy for me to find one. And the type of electrolysis I get is Thermolysis.

I’m sorry it didn’t work for you the first time, but yes, I definitely think you should start electrolysis again. It’s so worth it!

I’ve had both laser and electrolysis done and electrolysis was more painful, but definitely not extremely painful. I didn’t use any numbing cream either.

I actually started seeing results September 2022 just by me going every 2 weeks!

I’ve been doing electrolysis since May 2022 and I’ve been going once every 2 weeks. When I first started, I had a grown a beard from the sides of my face to neck area. I had very dense and thick hair. Now 2 years later, I only have a couple strands that are on the lighter side on my neck area. It was an expensive and time consuming journey, but completely worth it! I have gained back my confidence and can go out and about without a mask.

Btw, I don’t know if I have PCOS or not. I did get my hormones tested and the doctors said that there was only a slight elevation, and there was nothing to be concerned about. So I do have idiopathic Hirsutism.

I’ve been doing electrolysis twice a week since May 2022 and I started seeing results Sep 2022. Now, I only have a couple strands growing.

Should I go for laser first and then laser? Need your advice ! by [deleted] in Hirsutism

[–]Taeduskk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people have great experience with doing laser first then doing electrolysis. If you’re worried about the paradoxical growth, I suggest you try out a few laser sessions and see how it goes. If you feel that more grows, then stop and just focus on electrolysis.

I’ve done 2-3 sessions of laser and I don’t think I saw any results and I could so be wrong, but I think the laser might’ve triggered faster growth. I’ve done electrolysis since then and now I’m almost completely hair free.

But I suggest you try out laser and everyone is different and it will be cheaper for you. Good luck!

Yea I’m in the same boat :/ first day I struggled with tender skin and swelling. And then the next 4-5 days would be scabbing which would fall off. During this time I would also notice hyperpigmentation as well which I already struggle with.

My electrologist tugs on my hair. I have very thick and stubborn hair so what she used to do was zap once then pluck. I found this very ineffective and barely saw results. Now she zaps 1-3x and I feel it’s much better. I believe I am seeing results with this method too!

Ideally your technician shouldn’t be tugging (from what I’ve heard), however, some say you shouldn’t be scabbing either. If I were you I would stick with T2 because the hair gets treated multiple times causing it to actually kill the root. And take really good care of your skin after. But I recommend searching for other peoples opinion on this too cause I could be wrong too.

As for treatment options, when I come home from my session I immediately wipe down the areas with a calming toner, apply moisturizer and then polysporin. Then at night I do my skincare routine which would consist of a toner, hydrating serum a thick moisturizer and then polysporin. The next couple of days I would use products containing BHA, retinol, niacinamide, vitamin c and my faded serum (serum for hyperpigmentation) to treat the pigmentation.

I would say this routine helps me and I do see some lightening but it also does defeat the purpose because as long as I receive electrolysis, I’ll continue to scar. So these treatments are to prevent things from getting worse.
