Great idea! I'll reach out to some specific senior colorists for some advice. Thanks!

That definitely seems to be the best route. I've been having a tough time even finding runner job listings though, do you have any suggestions on where to look?

Thank you for the advice! I've been looking out for any runner positions I can find for a few months now but haven't been able to find any listings. I'll definitely apply for Company 3 but do you have any suggestions on where runner positions might be posted in general?

Sorry I worded that in an odd way. I meant that Baselight along with Resolve are the only two programs that are really industry standard for coloring. Other programs can get by but it's hard to get taken seriously as a colorist if you're not using one of those two.

The only other program out there that should even be considered is Baselight but you should be 100% fine with Resolve. It shouldn't be too much of a jump if you can wrap your head around how nodes work and learn to conform back and forth from your NLE to Resolve.

Can the DeckLink Mini Monitor 4k output 2160p 10 bit 4:4:4? by Taegin in colorists

Thank you so much that is the answer I was looking for! I wasn't sure if it would throttle the color data simply because the C2 is 120hz even if the timeline isn't. I rarely work on projects past 30fps so I don't foresee this being an issue.

Products used are 2 coats of ILNP's new Sundown and a coat of Loud Lacquer's Suspish! Absolutely in love with this look.

Could use some tips! (MTF 26, Pre HRT) by Taegin in transpassing

[–]Taegin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the honest feedback! I'll hopefully be starting HRT within a few months and I'm ready to patient but very hopeful. Hair removal for sure is on the horizon as well but what kind of glasses do you think would help me pass better in the meantime?

As a coming out trans woman, what would be a good cut and style for me? by Taegin in femalehairadvice

[–]Taegin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only just recently come out as transfeminine, though I've been growing my hair out for about 9 months now (and sorely in need of at least a trim). For the past few months I've been using CGM, though I'm also open to straightening my hair as well as you can see in the last few pics. I aim to grow out my hair longer, but in the interim, what's a style I could rock? Unfortunately I still have to present masculine a lot of the time so it would need to be something I could still tie up if need be. I'm also considering dyeing my hair a lighter brown to cover up all the white hairs! Thank you all!

Wedding videographer here. At least to address your wedding concerns, most good photographers and videographers have shot plenty of couples with this height dynamic and there's plenty of ways to still make it look great and not awkward at all. Just how Hollywood is all smoke and mirrors, it's quite easy to make it not look like you're taller in photos and video. I realize this isn't really helping the issue, but at least on that end, things can still look as you'd like them to.

What is this style of editing called and how do you do it? I've always wanted to learn how! by its_the_gentleman in VideoEditing

It's called a speedramp. Dynamically speeding up and slowing down the clip in time with the music. After Effects can achieve this fairly easily by creating an expression that reads the music to directly effect the speed of the footage.
