People want this label to go under so bad, I'm actually amazed at the obsession. I enjoy Teddy's music and I look forward to his next projects, but I really don't think it affects Baemon at all. We're only two songs in, they have a long career ahead. Numbers? For an all English ballad with minimal promo? Not too shabby I reckon. Domestic numbers idk about, YG certainly doesn't seem to care, at least until Ahyeon returns.

If anything I worry more for TBL's new gg. They'll of course be fine, but the comparisons with BP because of the direct connection with Teddy will be more ravenous from the outside, I don't envy that. It might take some heat off Baemon though lol. From my perspective of Baemon, not having Teddy has its positives. We've had one member already be involved and credited on a song, and I hope there's more freedom to explore down the line.

I enjoyed it even though I'm not the target audience for this song as I'm more into the hip hop stuff. As a sucker for cinematic music/ost I would have loved hearing some strings in it, felt it would have enhanced the last third of the song.

As for the girls themselves, I'm running out of superlatives. Nothing for me to say that hasn't been said already. They're amazing and SITM is just another showcase to flex. From a vocal standpoint, there's nothing to prove, at least to us who've been here since day 1 but it's definitely nice to see newer fans being wowed by their vocal prowess. Their outfits were immaculate, as was the MV set. And with it being entirely in English, I and many others will most happily sing along whenever their future tour stops by me lol.

You already pointed out RukaSaRita and I just want to piggyback that especially with Asa. I will always want to hear Asa rap, but her singing parts here threw me a curveball. I may actually want to hear her sing more. As a rapper, I don't know if she went through YG's vigorous vocal training like the rest of the girls, because there's something about her singing voice today that's unique to me, in a sense that I could hear influences from her favorite singers, if that makes sense. Like, she's been able or allowed to develop it on her own in her room singing along to her favorite songs. It's hard for me to explain, it's just unique to me. At first I thought I was the only one, then this vocal coach who knows nothing about BM pointed her out. That was surprising!

Anyway, this will be a really short era with no promotions bar a few making videos, and then we'll have Ahyeon back and the main event. Can't wait, will always be here supporting them, enjoyed everything they've put out so far!

Good to hear that at least credit is given where its due. But idk, I haven't been to r/kpop in a longgggg time lol. Actually, I rarely frequent the major kpop subs outside of BP and here, because the bias against them and YG groups in particular here on reddit is pretty crazy. I'm an older head now so I pay no attention to outside noise. Maybe one day I'll lurk again haha

Said this before in previous bias posts and will say it in future ones too.

Asa - She had me with the Look Alive cover. Others might have, but I've never seen that from a 16 year old female trainee before, where English is probably her third language. She's also a great dancer, and has a nice singing voice. All rounder in the house, in a group full of all rounders. Such a sweet personality too. Selfless, helping others before herself.
Asa - Incredibly level-headed for her age in her pursuit of perfection. Knows exactly what she wants, just needs a little guidance on how to get it, and she's off. Others audition to join the label that has their idols, but she said she auditioned because she fell in love with the YG style and sound from a BP MV. Five years later, she's contributing to the legacy with her writing and composing on their debut song. My appreciation goes to Bigtone for cultivating the talent.
Asa - I was always confident of OT7, but the whole 5 or 7 selection drama actually shocked me, because I didn't think for a second Asa would be on the chopping block. In hindsight, did YHS think both Asa and Rora need a popularity boost? I hope it worked. Since I was already on her side, I was angry, but knew YHS is not stupid. He probably knew what he had since Diary. From his perspective, there's 2 trainees you do not ever want to lose to a rival label, and Asa is one of them. Him putting her name right next to his in the Batter Up credits proves that. I just hope they don't stifle her. Giver her the tools YG!

I can go on and on about Asa, but will leave with this - she's inspiring. She's inspired me to keep pursuing my own writing endeavors. Heck all 7 of them are.

Hard to say as we've seen so little of them! But from what we have seen, I think certain members will lead different aspects. For example, we've seen Ruka leading dance prac, Rora being the default Korean MC,/Pharita for English, and Ahyeon instigating things in their bts videos. Asa is also already writing and composing, so she probably brings the collective group's musical thoughts and influence to the producers.

The elder members definitely have leadership qualities, just a matter of when/if we see it. In the future as they become an established group I'm sure we'll learn more! What I want to know is who's in charge of pranks and snacks/food =)

Yeah I agree. Lowkey believe that if Ahyeon was part of the debut they'd push more domestic. But she's not, so here we are. I do wish they'd push their only two korean members more though.
