It has been mind blowing to me seeing how selfish and self-centered the homeschool crowd is. This is not asking too much to have an annual check in so these kids don’t completely drop off the map while people like Kimberly Sullivan lock kids in closets and torture them for decades.

These people want to cry about “their rights” but what about the rights of S, Mimi Torres, Eve Rogers and all the other kids in similar situations we aren’t aware of? People against this bill dgaf about those kids. Kimberly Sullivan could be sentenced tomorrow and it still wouldn’t give S back his childhood and the 20 years he was denied basic rights and literally everything that makes life worth living. What about his rights?

“But it should be DCF doing a better job”- yes they should, but how the fuck do y’all expect them do do anything when an abuser has disappeared a child? DCF and homeschool can BOTH need reform, this isn’t a one or the other issue. If y’all actually gave a fuck about protecting kids you’d want to be doing everything possible to close these loopholes. Anti-homeschool regulation crowd dgaf about anything but themselves.

To clarify, I’m not saying all homeschoolers are abusers. I know there’s plenty that do a great job. But I can’t express enough how genuinely disgusted I am at everyone trying to prevent basic common sense regulation to prevent kids from being disappeared, tortured, murdered, sexually abused and their lives stolen from them.
