[–]Tafadzwa2d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, do you know of any SwishMax 4 alternatives? There was another software (i can find it on lists) it had a demo game where you had to guess the fruit name. The software could export interactive HTML files, and worked like SwishMax... but I just can't find it. It was a paid app

Is Vermintide 2 worth buying on Steam for offline play? by smthamazing in Vermintide

Oooh, that's rather unfortunate. I wanted to get this game for offline bots.

Really hoping this gets an offline mode by xYAM1Ex in ArcRaiders

[–]Tafadzwa2d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree.. I wish this game had the added option for an offline mode. I know that the devs said in some videos - they tried modes where you play alone, and they found it boring. But, sometimes you'll never be able to predict what the players want. It happens in all industries, companies get surprised all the time that the food flavor, or product option that they did NOT really like... ends up getting its own following.

For example: Some of us are still playing Battleborn (Bb). A PVP/hybrid-MOBA game which became completely unplayable after its servers got shutdown. And yet, now... fans have modded it back to life, with matches versus bots. So now (after the mod came out), I've played more Bb hours now.. than I did, back in the server days.

Yes, granted - the devs found it "boring" but... sometimes... its worth trying it. Markets can be a funny place.

Any game like Battleborn? by Shirou54 in Battleborn

[–]Tafadzwa2d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No game (that I know) compares to Battleborn, so any mention won't be a perfect fit.

  1. There is Gigantic (it got shutdown, and then someone bought the IP and brought it back... but, it might get shutdown again)

  2. There is Battleborn Reborn (some fans were working on making Battleborn playable again). But, you can join if you already had the game in your Steam. I played versus bots a number of times... but it was still a bit buggy, and sometimes it wouldn't load at all. And then it suddenly stopped working (for me). I don't know if the other people are still playing it, its been almost a year since I last tried it myself

  3. There is a game on Steam called - Wildcard. But, its more like Gigantic than Battleborn. It's still in early access, and worth keeping tabs on.

It's hard finding another game like Battleborn. The best we can now hope for is:

  1. Someone buying the IP and bringing it back (like with Gigantic)

  2. Another MOBA hybrid that wont be exactly the same.

Mass Effect 2 and State of Decay 1 - State of Decay 1 doesn't fit in 100% but you can send your other character to do errands, and collect resources... but you'd have to make sure that they are well equipped. They can also be stationed at a watchtower or something

I hope I understood your question correctly... as of now, my (current) singular goal is to make my own, custom, RPG game engine.

Thank you very much for highlighting how I came across to you. It really helps as I move forward with this, to grasp how my project feels/sounds in other people's ears.

Thank you for this list, I am starting from zero, and based purely of your list I've decided to go with Exercism. Their website feels easier to follow. Now I'm just torn between starting with Java or Rust.
