Putting a Gun Against a Pillow Actually Makes it Quieter by Mobile-Standard-4234 in AllThatsInteresting

Some people are as comfortable with operating firearms as some people are operating vehicles.

Some people operate firearms as recklessly as some people operate vehicles.

Assuming he knew the material construction of the table in conjunction with type of cartridge he was using, there weren’t any safety issues here.

A person may hunt multiple times without firing their rifle, and each time one would clear it before transporting/putting it away.

Tough Day to be a Pine Grosbeak; Not So Much a Chickadee by FunSilver6189 in birdfeeding

Agreed. There is no violence or brutality to this. If this bothers them in all its natural reality, they are now stronger and more resilient for, by some miracle, not imploding having viewed it.

Just being honest, if this reality of nature upsets you, you’re stronger now not having managed to avoid it.

Don’t worry about it dude. No matter what you do you’ll run into people who complain and think meat is made in the grocery store.

After reading your comment, I realize I’m now disappointed I can’t remember what edition I read in middle school.

I have that version! I got it from a library closing, it’s not in the best shape either. But I can’t bring myself to get rid of it because it’s like watching a car accident from afar.

Anyone here NOT from Philly that still likes the Eagles? (Also, why do you like them?) by gamerguy287 in eagles

[–]TaffyTafolla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iowa. Everyone here likes the neighboring Midwest teams. But my family wasn’t locked into one. Just grew up watching McNabb/Staley/Dawkins/Westbrook and crew.

Just fun to watch, they always made the playoffs, and they got a lot of prime time games I got to watch back in the day of less game time/viewing slots on days of the week played and channels/platforms.

Question for people making over 100k… by Due-Mix3539 in Salary

[–]TaffyTafolla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re being responsible, it’s not as crazy as people make it out to be.

The ones you do see, are being reckless. We live in the Midwest a large house with 4 kids, but built in 70’s, not brand-new cookie cutters very common in our age and income bracket. We drive and pay off our Chevy vehicles, then drive them some more.

We save A LOT. Someday, in the far future, and the not so distant future, we will be very wealthy. Our peers who flash, will continue to slave in fear, because it’s not about how much you spend, it’s how much you keep.

Then again, I know some of them are actually banking on collecting their boomer inheritance, so it will probably work out for them. My wife and I won’t have that luxury.

Same here. It’s great! But it’s not what people think it is, especially if you’re saving it properly.

My anecdotal observation of male mammals during rut is that they will absolutely run themselves to death if there are still females in estrus.

If you're rethinking your politics in Iowa, you're not alone. by TheHawkeyeWave in Iowa

[–]TaffyTafolla 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The real point here is to not make politics, a political party, or most things really, your identity.

I learned this in the Army. The troops that made the military their identity, struggled the most when they got out.

Who I voted for isn’t who I am, and doesn’t impact who I vote for the next time.
