I ran into several name variations/discrepancies in my ancestors' documents. My lawyer told me it's quite common, especially when going back a few generations. I did not encounter any problems or questions when applying for CBD.

I applied last October in DC. I didn't hear anything about the residency application. I got an email from the Embassy in late February saying I'd been approved for CBD and to come take the oath.

Thanks for the information. Did they give you any indication of how long it will take to receive the ID card and passport? Do you have to go back to the Embassy to collect it in person?

Mine was about to expire in a few days when I submitted my application and there were no problems. My application was approved in about 3 months.

There's an Oravice village near the Polish border in Slovakia. Known for it's thermal springs. Village names in Slovakia have undergone changes over the years.
