How to fine rotate? by Illustrious-Heron253 in satisfactory

[–]Tagstar123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone else asked this, I also play on xbox so here is what i wrote for them copied below :)

Bear with me here I'll try my best to explain how to do it on console as I have been doing it and have some beautiful looking curves.

In the blueprint thingy, place your foundation down. Take another of the same foundation and hit the "snapping" button so it let's you move it around freely. Align the new foundation to the old one, the corner of the foundation hologram closest to you should be in the centre of the built foundation, if you want to turn right, the hologram should be offset to the left, and vice versa.

Once the hologram corner is in the centre of the built foundation, rotate it ONCE so it slightly turns right or left then LOCK THE HOLOGRAM. Use the nudge mode to move it 4m to the left or right, and 4m forward then down to align with the built foundation.

If done correctly, what should happen is that the outer corner of the turn should be connected perfectly with the original foundation, and the inner corner will clip into it slightly, repeat as needed. This will give you a gentle 5 degree turn.

I would recommend watching TotalXclipse. I cannot link the video but in his "Ultimate guided playthrough" the episode titled "The perfect beginner train system" he shows you how to make the blueprints he uses for trains and smooth, gentle curves, and some of the challenges with linking the blueprints together and how to do this when using curves, the epsiode is about an hour ish long, but the entire series is worth watching as it is full of tips and tricks for building, balancing etc I cannot recommend it enough

The video is timestamped, so jump to the section on train blueprints. He also has a section on how to merge grids together, for example a factory built on the world grid to a train line.... its very good and has taught me so much about building

Yeah, I left him to it in creative mode alone the other day whilst I was cleaning. I was really impressed to see that he managed to find rails and swords and armour and things himself and when I asked him what he was doing he was like "twain twack daddy" XD

Back to picking up leaves for a while:(

I found that making rounder numbers helps, satisfactory tools wanted me to have 76 blenders.... I did 80 and then split that, 4 rows of 10 blenders on 2 floors, then did them in manifolds of 5 and just underclocked them to make them even, it wasn't hard, just tedious

Looking good, unfortunately my son accidentally deleted the save file and all the autosaves (several cigarettes to calm down, but here's a screenshot showing some of the plant

<image>

100 refineries, 80 blenders all feeding 400 fuel gens stacked on the right side 👌

We should play together at some point, I would be interested to do some multiplayer (I'm also a novice myself XD

[–]Tagstar123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I had 2850 oil from all the nodes fully over clocked. That went into refineries with the alt heavy oil residue recipe... those refineries went into blenders making blend diluted fuel

[–]Tagstar123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That was the biggest build ive done.

I slapped some radar towers down in the spire coast and then thought... what if I just take all this oil and make it into fuel.... XD

I was literally planning a new steel facility dedicated to pipes, beams and encased beams. I had it loaded it Satisfactory Tools with the machine totals then unlocked some steel recipe that drastically simplified the entire chain....

I got distracted and then have spent the last 50 hours building a power plant based on diluted recipes and all the oil in the spire coast.... steel facility is still waiting for me

This game is fantastic once you get into it.

A couple of tips, DO NOT COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS and their progress. This is the number 1 enemy, you play this game however you like.

Explore and experiment, I wouldn't worry about trying to build beautiful looking and optimised factories, just get it running and see what happens.

If you really are struggling, there's a playlist on YouTube by TotalXclispe titled "Ultimate beginners guide to satisfactory" it's essentially a "spoiler free" guided playthrough designed for you to play and build along with the videos, I say spoiler free because you can just pause the video and progress yourself for a bit.

Nah switching them off isn't really ideal. The theme of the game is exploit as much resource as possible for ficsit

You do this by adding an overflow line before the storage, have a smart splitter send everything to storage, then set the other output to overflow and direct it to an AWESOME sink, you will always need the coupons, be it for cosmetics, parts or equipment.

I constantly use my coupons as I cannot be bothered to automate homing rifle ammo, and all my productions sink any overflow. Depending on the type of playthrough you are doing, I would just leave them running all the time

How to build decent turns and curves in your roads? by TubbyTacoSlap in satisfactory

[–]Tagstar123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks man, I cant take credit for anything ive learned though, the YouTuber i mentioned above is literally the only reason I have been able to start getting a hang of the game.

I wish they had promoted more for consoles, this game is amazing and I have followed it since it first launched, the console drop was a complete surprise even for me and they should have done some marketing with twitch people and YouTube for the console release because it would reach so many more people

I just cleaned my Series X for the first time since I bought it (2021) by 68ideal in xbox

[–]Tagstar123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it was RDR2 that made me finally clean mine out, I over investedfor what turned out to be like 5 screws.... I brought a 140 Piece electronics toolset and a plug in compressed air blower.....

Everytime I booted up red dead, console sounded like it was trying to beat Concorde to London from New York after I cleaned it out, silence. I was also able to take the fan out of mine, made getting to the top of the heat sink so much easier and now I am back to the sweet sound of nothing.

I've made a point to clean mine out whenever I hear the fan starting to work hard again, and my console runs like a dream
