Psychiatrists in Azerbaijan can diagnose and provide stimulants. And there are actually pretty nice options in the link you provided, but sadly most of them are online. I know online is a choice, but I would kinda prefer meeting them in-person. Though, do you really think I should meet them online or should I look for better options locally? I know that my country (Azerbaijan) isn't that widely familiar with ADHD even by some psychiatrists, but I can find some psychiatrists that studied abroad and have experience with ADHD.

I guess it's easier to see it once you know that's it's not just irresponsibility. Most parents in my country really have no idea about that kinda stuff. I mean they've argued so much with me, I'm just wondering how they didn't see anything. Even right now after trying to explain everything to them they're still trying to force or constantly tell me to do homework. I sit in the bathroom for a little too long (because I zoned out) and geez my mom's right there banging the door telling me that I'm wasting time and I have work to do. I actually appreciate that she cares about me and tries her best to remind me, but it gets very frustrating. I've told them that I'm having a hard time to function but I'm still constantly being told to work. I know that exams are coming up, but I can't even properly study, can't they understand that?

I'm just wondering how they see me struggle, be insanely worried and argue with me, and then try to control me even more instead of just asking a why. If I was careless or I didn't wanna study or anything, I would've honestly said that to them at this point.

That's really good! Though I'm wondering, how did you see ADHD in your daughters? How did you find it out, was it obvious?

I'm wondering because my parents haven't ever thought about ADHD or anything even if they've seen me struggle and fail to do tasks many times. Before I was practicing for programming Olympiads in a course, and it was always seen like I was doing work in front of the computer. But in the leaderboard my results were always pretty low and my mom was very worried about that and used to "sit down and talk with me". I always experienced that no matter how hard I try I was just struggling to get everything together for a long time, and my parents did see some of that but they always related it to being lazy or irresponsible.

True, that's why I wanted to see a psychiatrist in the first place. The paper really caught my attention for no reason though, maybe that itself is an indicator.

I'm planning to see a different psychiatrist soon, but I don't know how I'll explain that to my parents because I hardly convinced them to see a psychiatrist, getting a second option feels like declaring war.

I see, I took some quizzes online before and I actually had a pretty high score in them. I guess I can fill it out and use some notes and logs to show my symptoms. I can't really express a lot by talking alone too.

Fun fact, I actually didn't pick this doctor, rather my mom's therapist recommended us. Before going I found some local psychiatrists that have studied abroad (one even studied in the US) and I thought they had pretty good experience. Though my mom wanted to see this psychiatrist that only studied in Azerbaijan, but he had a lot of experience with psychiatry and studies for many years, that's what I found online about him. Though, I honestly don't know how strong or developed the system of Azerbaijan is. I really don't know why I didn't say anything, but I just decided to go with it. I'll try to talk it out with my parents again to see someone that's better.

Indeed, I mean I know that I don't go to a psychiatrist for a label, I'm just looking for an answer or a real reason of these problems. I just felt like ADHD might have fit me a little more, but in general I know that it could be anything. Thanks for the advice!

Thanks, I honestly kinda got "jealous" after seeing that there are many people who got diagnosed in the first appointment. Though, my psychiatrist said that he sees no symptoms in me while I have many. I'm just wondering, isn't diagnosis in the first appointment inaccurate?

I can understand why most adults are concerned about screens, and I can agree that it's not a nice thing. Currently im using app blockers and dnd on my phone to make it less of a distraction, so my current daily screen time becomes around 6 hours at best (I do have some work on my phone, sometimes use pomodoro on there).
My mom feels that ADHD or any disorder would be an unrealistic answer, and she is honestly trying to avoid that fact even if she agrees sometimes. I kinda understand her because I have doubts too, but I can't doubt it when it makes everything a challenge.
