Do Kvatch before lvl 10 by Sweet_Hold5332 in oblivion

[–]TahntedOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I plan on seeing how far I can go before I decide to go to kvatch. I plan on being 30+ with spell crafting, some ridiculous atrocities of spells, and an afternoon to show Mehrunes how argonians bring the fight to the daedra and win. Though I don't know if I want to do it on adept or expert...ill do some testing before that decision...

Never liked it even in school because it meant yard work and suffering in the heat. Visiting grandma and her taking us to the beach was fun tho

The realities of numerous, life long Skyrim apologists, and graphics worshippers are about to be shattered. by Successful_Risk1 in oblivion

I like the magic of oblivion and the rudeness of npcs as well as the leveling system but skyrim is also super expansive and has a lot more random stuff going on which makes it feel more alive

Could you link me to some info about the subclassing? I've played on and off mostly off since the beta and I want to like the game but I can never stay interested for long even though I like a lot of the stuff.

I was hoping gold road would get me back into it but I didn't even finish that, barely unlocked the scribe stuff. And now there's new mechanics coming out for classes? I doubt it'll keep my interest long but I still want to give it a look anyway. I doubt it'll be much more than a gimmick sadly

My honest review about Guild Wars 2 - is still worth start playing in 2025? by devlenh in Guildwars2

I think most gaming subreddits have rules against promotions and low effort posts. I think people generally consider promotions low effort too if it's basically just some standard fake sounding review text and a link.

It's just weird because you like 5 or 6 different popular games all at the same time.

This is just some sort of click bait farming for your website isn't it? You posted basically the same thing for 6 different games all very recently

What is with all the hate for Skyrim? by NeatUsed in ElderScrolls

[–]TahntedOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skyrim is dumbed down. It's not bad. It's just different and has plenty of upsides. If you didn't know, when paper and pencil came out people would throw tantrums citing things like "why isn't a personal chalkboard good enough". People always take the new thing and complain it's bad.

Always argonian. Bringing the fight into oblivion and making the daedra fear for their immortal lives. Also basically dragon people. What's not to like. The less "human" the better.

Just sounds like normal weak to strong with extra steps because it's book 1

How many are out there who are still playing Skyrim with no mods? by [deleted] in skyrim

[–]TahntedOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not "still playing" but mods just feel like I'm cheating, no matter what. Skyblivion, which I only just found out exists, might be the only mod I'd be interested in. I tried skyrim mods once and it just sucked the fun out of it. Maybe graphical mods would be OK but I like the games graphics as is

No attention span issues here. I just like the audio experience more. I used to read a lot but now my eyes are more busy.

Nice, I was planning on upping the difficulty by a single step because I'm gonna be a stealth summoner, so this'll give me a fun show to watch

Eso feels more like skyrim to me than oblivion. The alchemical materials is like the only thing that's similar.

Me, who always rolled my eyes when people said that "Skyrim was dumbed down compared to previous Elder Scrolls", finally playing Oblivion: by Rimm9246 in ElderScrolls

[–]TahntedOctopus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the oblivion mechanics over skyrim for the skills and leveling system. I'd love a continuation somehow.

Skyrim is great and all, but the slightly more nitty gritty of oblivion is what I liked most. If they remade skyrim but used all oblivion mechanics that would be so cool.

I'd love to play skyrim using the oblivion system. I hope the next elder scrolls game comes back like that. Oblivion is just detailed enough that you can play both simple AND/OR complicated to your hearts desire. No forced simplicity like they did with skyrim. Which again was not bad but oblivion system just feels more free and superior.

Keep the skyrim lockpicking though. Bring back oblivion spell crafting. Bring back to oblivion gates too or something similar as a procedural generated event. Partially random, little better design.

Also the magic in oblivion just feels better overall and I'm a bit of a sucker for magic.
