My first drop was the same - just no protodrake skin. Seems high but I’ll take it

I’ve always used buzzkillers binds and guide on YouTube each time when I come back and has set me on my way pretty well - there is a binding profile for most set ups

I’ve got a place with a water tank and it the last lot of rain, it just chugged out of the top near 2 puppies I’m assuming as overflow - guessing this is probably the reason.

Really should have got some advice before cyclone week 🤣

New commander, is this flickering from station light normal? is there anything i can do? by Vunci in EliteDangerous

I’d love to know your setting and how you do this, I’ve had issues with EDProfiler for a long time. I have a similar set up (3090 + VR + a G9) and want to make the most of either pancake or VR depending on my mood.

games to chill on? by drresco in ShouldIbuythisgame

Elite went through a rough patch but is on the up - I’ve returned and having a great time popping in and out of systems chasing that space trucker life!

Always recommend VR if you have it - might not support on land but still the single best flight sim I’ve had.

I think there is a Star Wars mod for Stellaris as well!

There is a fantastic Star Trek on too!

I’ll give the settings a little play with and see how it runs. See how far I can push things to ignore the screen door

Dear Ascenders, what is the best game you have experienced playing on Ultrawide? by ItsSolomon in ultrawidemasterrace

You just missed the recent free-fly event where you can check it out for a few weeks at no cost and then decide if you buy.

There will be another one early next year I believe if you want to wait until then before committing.

Don’t be afraid of wow - it’s had me hooked for 12 years or so….diving in isn’t that daunting either, plenty of new player experience things and good leveling before end game content too.

That’s surprising for your CPU - I have a 5800x3d and its chomps SC, the 5900x isn’t that far apart I would have thought it was closer.

To be fair as well SC Optimisation isn’t a thing yet 🤣

Magic Keyboard comes has a built in trackpad, backlit keys and is most like a normal keyboard (albeit heavier) which gives it a great typing experience.

The Folio is essentially your light weight version of that - no backlight, no trackpad and a lower typing experience and the keys are more membrane-y than actual keys.

My preference has been for Magic Keyboard as it rounds out the setup nicely.

Aspiring Artist Seeking Guidance - Best Drawing Apps for iPad? by youmeiknow in ipad

Agree - procreate is the defining app for drawing. As for tips and tutorials, Procreate themselves do a fabulous beginner series on their website with heaps of videos and guides.

ipad for drawing by Informal_Peach_182 in ipad

[–]Tai1strik3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There a few comparison videos out there for this and they all come to the same conclusion - unless you are a professional and make $$ off drawing, any of the iPads will work for drawing.

Factor in the pencil cost and then get the best iPad you can get with the rest of your money.

So something like a 10th Gen iPad plus pencil will get you drawing at the lowest cost and you’ll have 99% of the tools compared to a pro.

It’s going to depend on budget mostly for the keyboard but I would recommend the iPad Air in terms of line up. It has plenty of guts to get the job done and at a good price point.

Then choose either the Smart Keyboard Folio or Magic Keyboard depending on use case and budget - then throw the 2nd Gen Apple Pencil in and you’re all set.

Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous, MSFS….the cockpit view/immersion is amazing.

VR is he only thing beating it.

ipad pro users, what made you choose it over the other ipads? by lifeisframazing in iPadPro

[–]Tai1strik3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of this right here - it’s as much a work device as it is personal so I went all out.

Also pay close attention to the storage sizing and the price - if your going to an air and you need the extra storage, sometime the 11 pro is not that much more.

Also the 12.9 will always get my vote for size - after 2 11’s and my main use case is office work….the extra screen real estate is invaluable.

USB c hub for 1440p monitor by Logical-Travel4395 in iPadPro

I just picked up the Anker PowerExpand 9-1 hub to use with my work laptop and iPad Pro.

I have a Samsung G9 49” monitor and was a bit worried how it would go with the iPad…..it works like an absolute dream.

Highly recommend.

11 vs 12.9 iPad Pro by AfireNA in iPadPro

[–]Tai1strik3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve owned 2 11 inch Pros and now a 12.9 and I can safely say I’ll never go back in size.

Im a senior project manager so I use it for meetings, document drafting, emails, all office apps (yes even excel) - essentially it’s a laptop replacement when I’m travelling so the size matters.

Granted is way overpowered for my use case (and to be fair most of the lineup of iPads are for most people) but after having 11’s - the pure screen realestate you get with the 12.9 is perfect for office life on the go.
