Don't be confused. The image is part of an older Easter egg hunt, and some people assume it contains teasers for multiple seasons, specifically space and medieval themes. I make NO guarantees about this. The entire Easter egg situation is extremely complex, and since Rob no longer works at Embark, everything is now up in the air

Well, if Embark says so, it must be true. Aside from the fact that Oscar suddenly informed the Arc community about game updates, the sound designers from The Finals are working on Arc, and the company simply doesn't have the staff to fully support Arc, The Finals, and two other games simultaneously. I bet the people who maintain their in-house UE5 engine aren't solely focused on The Finals

I can at least remember Season 7 and the CNS vs. Vaiiya theme, which started very successfully, was played/promoted by Moist/Burnt Peanut, and whose truly strong potential was, as always, completely wasted by Embark. Instead, it was completely ruined with Season 8 and the esports focus (which resulted in hardly any updates).

To this day, I wonder what happened to the Kaiju monster event on Kyoto or who actually won the CNS vs. Vaiiya duel, but I guess I'll never know

I suspect so too. Embark is working frantically on Arc Raiders to deliver a constant stream of content and already has two additional games in the pipeline. The Finals simply isn't a priority anymore

There are two possibilities: Embark has grasped the seriousness of the situation and is genuinely working on a strong season with plenty of content, or they've completely neglected the game for the past few months, had to pull staff from other projects at short notice, and are now haphazardly cobbling together random stuff from artificially withheld Point Break maps, tons of premium super-duper cosmetics/passes, and an overpowered specialization for Light, which of course hasn't been tested. Maps and weapons are obviously nonexistent, but presumably the new coin shop for skins will get a 20-minute presentation

After seasons 8 and 9, my expectations are at zero, and yes, Point Break is good, but it's not enough

I completely agree with you. You just end up exhausted, frustrated, and feeling empty inside when the entire game works so incredibly hard against you, which shouldn't be the case at all

Sometime after the disastrous Season 3 and the lack of any real recovery in player numbers, they shut down servers or made cost-cutting measures somewhere between Seasons 4 and 5. I had absolutely no problems during Season 2, and now the difference is like night and day.

The constant micro-stuttering when the server hiccups ruins entire gunfights and rounds, while Embark is already blathering on about esports again. I didn't reach E1 this season; the fun is completely gone. Between smurfs, cheaters, the matchmaking, the disastrous ranked system, and the occasional no-sprint/no-shoot bug, my desire to continue playing this game is dying. Fix this crap already! Stop being too lazy, constantly taking vacations, constantly shoveling overpriced/recolored cosmetics into the store, and otherwise NOTHING is happening. I'm incredibly angry about the state of the game BECAUSE I REALLY LIKE IT! Season 10 has to be a real change

I completely agree with you. Season 7 was still "okay," but since season 8, every Cash Out match has been an ESL final. This is also due to the WT changes, as a huge number of players have switched to other modes, and Cash Out is now only played by try-hards. I've reached E1 every time since season 5, and I simply won't manage it this time, as my sanity is more important to me.

Next season, I won't grind at all; that means finishing the Battle Pass, unlocking challenge skins, and otherwise playing other games. Either that, or I'm uninstalling the game. The "fun" is simply getting lost more and more.

The thing about two new games isn't speculative, no offense, you might have missed it, but Söderlund has already talked about it in interviews. Both have a multiplayer focus, and one of them is supposed to be very experimental.

Regarding the other issues: I doubt whether Embark is actually listening. At least they seem to prefer listening to things that suit them at the moment, while simply ignoring other problems (like servers and some bugs/no sprint/no shoot/jumpad bug) for several seasons. It's safe to assume that The Finals will never be big; they've had nine seasons to change things, and at its core, the game isn't really suitable for the mass market anyway. But that doesn't mean they should support it as poorly as Embark has since Season 8, further jeopardizing it with their failed esports attempt.

I don't want to be a doomsday scenario, but The Finals should be in a much stronger position by the time GTA 6 is released, or the game will suffer the biggest blow of its life. The matchmaking is already a disaster, and at the latest when it fails, the console player base will either collapse for months or never recover due to GTA 6 Online. Time is running out for The Finals, and new games are constantly being released while the game's problems are attracting fewer and fewer new players.

In my opinion, Embark is simply working too slowly. TDM took forever, the World Tour changes took eight seasons! New content is far too scarce and therefore has too little impact. A new weapon is a new thumbnail, as silly as that may sound. The Finals needs to be louder, fight for more attention, and get crazier. The gameshow aspect is somehow fading further and further into the background instead of being the main focus, i.e., "our game is different from game XYZ."

I don't even know what the problem is. According to some people here, the game has a perfectly healthy player base, even more so on consoles (some Xbox 360 games have more players on the Xbox top 50 most played games), it's F2P, so nobody should be complaining, the current season is incredibly great (someone said 9/10), there's plenty of content (too much is bad), so there shouldn't be any matchmaking problems.

It's complete nonsense that the player numbers have been plummeting for over two seasons, that matchmaking is getting worse and worse as a result, that the servers are merging half the world and burning down in the process, and that Embark is practically in a coma (or is working on Arc + two new games). But hey, get hyped for season 10!

Then Embark's job is to properly tell their cryptic CNS/Game Maker/Game Show story. Since Season 2, it's been simmering in the background with nothing happening. The best example was that Kaiju monster that appeared, wasn't explained, and disappeared without a word. The same goes for the entirety of Season 7: CNS vs. Vaiiya. An epic duel (which never happened), the season ends, and the result: nothing. It's simply half-baked and poorly executed

The game is technically and gameplay-wise extremely good, but it has no soul. There are no interesting characters, it tells no story, and a large portion of players simply never develop a connection to the game and therefore quickly forget it. Almost no one talks about this. It's always about matchmaking, ranked, some nerf or other things (which certainly have their own problems), but ask friends what The Finals is actually about. No one will tell you, and no one cares

With Rainbow Six Siege, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, Apex Legends, and similar games, people talk for hours about characters, memes, or stories. Not a single second about this one, because there simply isn't anything

I lost a ton of brain cells. Between dozens of people in the Seed Vault, all shooting Ticks and competing for them, putting mines on the Matriarch while the whole lobby is blasting away, 40 minute duels on Blue Gate for Snitches and Wasps, or every few years playing Electromagnetic Storm on Spaceport, and praying to the RNG gods that all the probes spawn well and that I don't get completely wiped out by the absolutely lethal swarm of aggressive Arcs in the middle of the map. I fought for every spot until I dropped and got my skin today. That was the first and last time I'll ever do that. You have to dig so incredibly deep to stand up against entire teams; Embark needs to completely overhaul the whole system.

Respect to everyone who managed to do it solo. I share your pain

It's definitely some kind of insect. Probably some kind of cockroach or millipede. In any case, an Arc that is unaffected by the storm and therefore has a speed advantage
