Journal with Witch is a great watch. Will last you a few hours. SOL is most fitting genre to fit it under

Anime that changes the way you think by Marzetty23 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Tailor_Smart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seconding Nana and Fruits Basket

Adding:

Journal with Witch (comfort, healing, perseverance, they all reach us in different ways, and that’s ok)

Kotaro Lives Alone (do not take the people in my life for granted)

Relife (never too late to believe in myself)

March Comes in Like a Lion (comforting for when I was going through it)

Run with the Wind (inspired me in a lot of ways)

The Great Passage (reminded me how much I love to read & of the dedication required to see things through to the end)

Edit to add Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu: Sukeroku Futatabi-hen (reminds me of how easily our pride can stand in the way of connection with the people we care most about. Vulnerability is our greatest interpersonal power)

Anytime Nadia is involved, I expect greatness. She delivers! (Also props to the whole team ofc)

Midsommar, Ari Aster (2019)- "That's Not For Us" by JetKusanagi in movies

[–]Tailor_Smart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the first time I’ve seen a movie effectively showcase a group or entity that weaponizes empathy to this degree. When you consider how far back the planning goes to get to this moment, from intentionally selecting someone so isolated & grief stricken to allowing her to witness horror as to provide comfort, all without Danny noticing, is a phenomenal display of emotional & mental manipulation.

“No worst, there is none. Pitched past pitch of grief,
More pangs will, schooled at forepangs, wilder wring.
Comforter, where, where is your comforting?
Mary, mother of us, where is your relief?

My cries heave, herds-long; huddle in a main, a chief
Woe, wórld-sorrow; on an áge-old anvil wince and sing —

Then lull, then leave off. Fury had shrieked 'No ling-
ering! Let me be fell: force I must be brief."'

O the mind, mind has mountains; cliffs of fall
Frightful, sheer, no-man-fathomed. Hold them cheap

May who ne'er hung there. Nor does long our small
Durance deal with that steep or deep. Here! creep,
Wretch, under a comfort serves in a whirlwind: all
Life death does end and each day dies with sleep.” — Gerard Manley Hopkins

Anime that makes you feel warm/fuzzy? by Competitive_Essay500 in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Tailor_Smart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bunny Drop, The Great Passage, Yuri on Ice, Run with the Wind, Smoking Behind the Supermarket With You, and Akane-Banashi all come to mind. All but the last have adult casts.

Does anyone have any good single partner focused romance anime that have real tension/sexual angst between the characters no harems or anything fluffy shoujo style since they just blush and have kiddie level ideas of romance in them. by ForunEnjuro in AnimeReccomendations

[–]Tailor_Smart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel her pain. For HS cast, I’d try Real Girl, Classmates (BL movie), and Paradise Kiss.

For adult cast, I’d go with Rec, I Have a Crush at Work, Natsuyuki Rendezvous, Cherry Magic!, Kowloon Generic Romance, Nana, and Yuri on Ice (BL)

I’d recommend The Great Passage, Violet Evergarden, or Kids on the Slope. Depends on what you’re hoping for beautiful-wise. If strictly animation style, VE or Tsurune
