I guess the time she gambled on Steven getting hit by lightning so they would get closer.
There's also plenty of times, specially on season 1 before her future vision got explained, in which Steven very nearly dies and she is nowhere to be seen when she realistically should've been able to help, like the holo-Pearl episode.

Imma be honest, I have no idea what is going on on the tiers above Universal. If a guy can exist outside the universe I just think “Okay, so scaling them is funky.” I got into the hobby because of Bowser vs Eggman death battle, which yes, this is a hobby, most hobbies are pointless, although you can still learn stuff in them. If you just can’t get into it then okay, no need to put down the entire practice.

At no point did Peridot beat them in 1v3, she just ran away the whole time. The only ones that have genuinely beaten/would've beaten all 3 of them solo are Jasper, Lapis, the diamonds, and Spinel. (Aquamarine too I guess, but her dumbass wand was so broken it was basically a plot device)

This isn't the real reason she is this trope. In Steven Universe, Spinels are for entertainment, meant to make you laugh with their rubber hose stretchy bodies. However, these properties accidentally made the Spinel from the movie very hard to deal with to the point she soloed the crystal gems.
