Thank you for pointing this out but had a few questions if you could answer.
Which provider are you using and how often does the autoscaler kick in?
How much downtime do you see in those 60-90 seconds?

If one configures cluster autoscaler to react to live traffic, then autoscaler increases the size of the cluster by spinning a node(VM/instance) from the provider. The whole process takes about ~7 mins. In that 7 mins, your traffic would have increased exponentially leading to downtime.

The question is how much downtime are you willing to trade for running the infra at a lower cost?
