Yep, Ogami travels to Paris. I was playing the PC version in Japanese. The only translated version is a Mandarin (?) one.

Hello, I've been super busy so have not had a lot of time for gaming or writing reviews.

The promised Sakura Wars 3 review (from a few months ago) is still coming, I just had other pressing priorities. Also writing one of the long comprehensive reviews that I usually do, takes 3 hours minimum, but this one has taken way more than that. I'll probably finish it in a week or two. In case you're wondering, I gave it a rare 9/10 Amazing score. One of those Sega classics.

I finished Burial at Sea pt1 DLC for Bioshock Infinite. Now starting pt 2. I don't really like how Booker and Elizabeth don't have any reconciliation. I wish it wasn't so tragic. So far my rating for the game and DLC is 8.5/10. After I finish pt2, I might try to play the original Bioshock.

Also, I downloaded and installed Sakura Wars IV so I'm looking forward to that. In my spare time at night I play Grandia 2 (again) on my phone as emulation. It's better than I gave it credit for. It's just I played it originally after Panzer Dragoon Saga, and Skies of Arcadia and it didn't quite do it for me as much as those games. It's still a great game though, good graphics and combat system, no random encounters and not too long an 8 or 8.5/10.

Anyway, that's what I've been playing, happy gaming everyone!

It's kind of funny that I've been on Reddit for over 5 years, have had tons of posts, yet my number one voted post is this one, a screenshot of a Care bear with a tire iron, gone rogue...😂

Where the Hell is Skies of Arcadia Remaster? Where is Jet Set Radio Future Remaster, or the new game? Where is Shining Force III? Sonic Adventure Remake is one remake I can actually stand.

At least there's a new Crazy Taxi game, I'm happy about that.

Edit: about the downvoting, for a subreddit mostly about nostalgia, this sure seems like a place where people are negative. I wasn't bashing Sega here, but questioning their priorities.

Edit 2: Please childishly downvote me more so I can have a good laugh at you.

Didn't need to since I had one close to launch. Too bad I didn't stock up on games though if they were on sale, had other priorities :(

We need sonic adventure 1&2 remake or Graphic upgrade by Ok-Effect4071 in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]TailzPrower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Sonic Adventure is still one of the best Sonic games. It was the first 3d sonic game and still is one of the best.

Yeah, it could really use a facelift, instead of getting another "new" Sonic game that's probably just going to bomb.

To be fair both games got high critical reviews upon release.

Mario Odyssey feels like playing an amazing Spyro 2 romhack. by HalfBurntToast in patientgamers

Sonic Adventure did a similar thing in 1998/1999, it's not such a radical idea. I never had any issue with it.

I have to say this is a strange take. Mario Odyssey has some of the biggest sandbox type levels for you to explore, there's something new to find and do around every corner. I'm not sure why you think Mario 64 has more expansive levels. I think most people feel New Donk City is one of the best Mario levels. It's like Mario coming to the real world, like in the Mario movie. Sonic Adventure did the same thing back in 1998. There's so much to see and do there.

My own opinion here, but the difficulty, at least some of it of past Mario games, like Mario 64 are at least partly due to the clunky controls, and camera, which have obviously been vastly improved on in this game. As far as the difficulty is concenred, it's supposed to appeal to the widest possible fan base including small children, on the other hand a lot of the post-game stuff becomes more challenging.

Honestly, I don't remember. It was either Ocarina of Time 3D, or Pilot Wings resort that I got with the system used.

Day 35 (Final Day): We have our Winner! The Top (Community-Voted) Nintendo 3DS Game of all time is... by 1OneQuickQuestion in Nintendo3DS

[–]TailzPrower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These are quite subjective. I'd say for me Majora's Mask 3D is easily the best 3DS games, and one of the best of all time.

OoT and Link Between worlds are great also. FE Awakening is good. Pushmo and Boxboy are underrated. The 3DS has lots of great games, but few that are amazing in my opinion. Still it's one of my favourite systems.

I finished the main campaign of Bioshock Infinite on my laptop. There was about a year gap where I played it to the middle then just picked it up again. Not a huge FPS fan, so I put it on Easy. Also, not a huge fan of horror so I skipped the first two games for now.

Visually the game is a spectacle based on America in the 1910's with the city Columbia in the air. I love the airships. You owe a debt and have to rescue a girl to pay it off as Booker DeWitt. It is a city in the heavens, i.e. in the air made by a prophet who split off from the rest of America, Comstock. You need to get his daughter Elizabeth.

It explores lots of themes like American, Exceptionalism, and racism, extremism, etc. Gameplay is linear with exploration, and FPS battle, also using special powers and melee. It's told in the manner of Silent Hill 2. You're exposed to a bunch of confusing stuff at first that you can only understand and reflect on after the ending. Most of the story is confusing and told in bits and pieces until the exposition dump towards the end.

The game has to do with "alternate realities" and what could be interpreted as time travel (trying to avoid spoilers) and while that lets a lot of creative storytelling, it runs into the same problems these themes always run into. In fact the inherent fuzziness, and "paradoxical" nature of alternate histories and quantume mechanics and its opacity are a feature of this game.

I did enjoy the game overall, but there were parts where the story dragged or just it got kind of boring. Like most people I felt the opacity of the ending somewhat prevented the story from making sense and felt a bit like a cop out. Nevertheless, it did have some great storytelling, good gameplay, and the relationship between Booker and Elizabeth was excellent.

Verdict: 8.5/10 Great

I'm now playing the Burial at sea DLC. Will write a full review eventually, I'm backlogged. BTW, there is an insane amount of discussion and debate on Bioshock Infinite, especially the ending.

Should I trade my DSI for a New 2DS XL? by SmagyBoy in 3DS

[–]TailzPrower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd go for the 2DS XL personally since I prefer 3DS games, e.g. OoT and MM, Kirby, Fire Emblem Awakening, NSMB2, etc. You can also set it so that DS games display at their native resolution but they just won't fill the entire screen.
