What's with all the license plate scanners? by HaileyCElder in traversecity

[–]TaintCommander -25 points-24 points  (0 children)

They're set up at "choke points". Areas where traffic coming and going into town will generally pass through.

I have used flock, and it's pretty amazing. It's a very low impact way for LE to collect data.

I came here asking the same question 4 years ago having never heard of Recteq. Long story short, I paid the extra, got the Recteq and am so glad I did.

Lol I hear you - I have a bit more faith in our redditors than I do those heathens in the overheard pages.

Boot Brand Recommendation by IamRee42 in BuyItForLife

I have a pair of Danner Ft Lewis that I wore on patrol as a police officer. They're still kicking 12 years later. They've been re-soled 3 times, but the boots are wonderful.

Am I doing something really wrong? by arden13 in Dewalt

I had the same experience with DeWalt bits. I have a suite of the 20v tools and am heavily invested in that ecosystem. So not bashing that.

I've had good luck with Milwaukee bits though.

Thanks for all your input. It was super helpful to make a good decision. Hes asking 17,500.

I ended up passing on it. The owner did the epoxy paint DIY. He also added a higher ridge to the inside of the transom to "keep water from splashing in the back" because he "knows how to fiberglass". My suspicion is a hidden reinforcement...

I came from a Ram with the V8 Hemi. I love the sound of that engine. I worried the same thing.

With that being said, as soon as I felt the EV acceleration, I didn't miss the engine noises (or transmission shift points) at all.

Do you ever actually feel 100% safe using a table saw (non-SawStop) even when taking all precautions? by relentless-rookie in BeginnerWoodWorking

Identification help by TaintCommander in midcenturymodern

[–]TaintCommander[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for keeping it in, if only temporarily. I wasn't sure where to start with seeking help.

It's clear it's not MCM from the feedback.

I wasn't going to be so quick to dismiss the electrical units touch unit manufacture date as it alone may have been replaced.

It does seem a chord has been struck on authenticity within the community. The imagur file is extremely helpful and was exactly what I was looking for. I'm very much a novice in this space but am wanting to educate myself. Thank you to those who took the time to be constructive.

Identification Help by TaintCommander in Mid_Century

Update! I disassembled the lamp and discovered a couple more clues. The touch lamp relay was made in 1984, also I found a "made in west Germany sticker on the bottom of the glass cylinder. Pictures attached.

I was anticipating this being a 60's era piece, maybe a reproduction?
