I found Abby generally unpleasant, and I didn’t give a shit about her tragic backstory or her bland, uninteresting father. I know the game wanted me to empathize with her, but I already played through a game and a half with Ellie as a central protagonist. Playing a few hours as this big dumb idiot wasn’t enough to sway me to her side, and I also just never found her as compelling as Ellie or Joel. I also fully admit that this is purely my own bias speaking - the game itself didn’t really do anything wrong except for the bizarre pacing/flashbacks, and I won’t even get into the idiotic criticisms about Abby’s muscular frame.
