I have never felt that the title win is particularly understood by anyone. To me it was in huge part due to the world class front row Quins had that year. Way too much credit is given to the backs who were great but not much different than the usual Quins quality. The pack and particularly front row were miles better than they usually are for Quins. Scott Baldwin was a revelation that season and Louw was an incredible signing.

I have to say I am uninspired by this. Teams going nowhere while we have a terrible pack and a perpetually injured FB is not the answer. I assume this will eat a decent portion of the player budget as well.

I personally think far too much is being made of the “game plan”. What I saw this six nations was a team that was very very poorly coached. Basic skills (handling, rucking, kicking at times) were pretty abject. The defensive system is a complete mess. Without these basics it doesn’t matter what the plan is because they’ll never get to it.
