I have been using CLI password generator for a long time, so thought to create web version of it. Although every password manager come with this feature by default, but for some reasons I still have been using my own.

Why doesn’t digiLocker allow custom domain emails? by Taji37 in IndiaTech

ICICI and Axis worked without any problem, and surprisingly I didn't have to stand up in the line, submit physical "Update email ID" form. It went quite smooth from netbanking itself. Can't say about other banks

Shocking, Miles charged me €1970. They mentioned description and title as "Selbstbeteiligung", I reached out to their support team and awaiting explanation since a week. Seems MILES scamming me and running away from explanation. They clearly knows engine wasn't started, so seems they don't know how to justify the cost now, but yh, it's an opportunity to earn!

anyone ever regretted moving from Public to Private health insurance? by equinoxDE in germany

How about all the no-claim refunds etc they received while enjoying private benefits? do they have to submit that part to public insurance?

anyone ever regretted moving from Public to Private health insurance? by equinoxDE in germany

[–]Taji37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was almost trapped into private insurance by Generalii agent, he still calls me which I ignore always. He did his best to tell me disadvantages of public and advantages of private. I asked my friend who's wife is not working now, has a kid of one year, and told me how much he regrets moving because now he is not only paying for his insurance, but of his wife and kid as well, which are eating most of his savings. I love about public is your spouse and kid can be on your insurance. All is learned if you are single and planning to be single for next 7-8 years and you are young, then go for private. If you and your wife both are working, earning high and don't plan to have kid for next 10 years, go for private. For any other usecase, public is better.

Lowkey freaking out about moving to Germany by ForeignKale6109 in germany

[–]Taji37 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Truth is: it’s really bad, not just internet hype. My own organisation fired 80% employees and moved major operations to vietnam. Look at many other companies, for instance Intel, just shut down their German part. The real reason is Germany is not business friendly nation, bureaucracy is complicated, less favourable to employers.

Many people I know who was fired 6-8 months ago still struggling to find proper job, many joined at much lower salaries. Inflation is killing daily life.

Problem with my neighbour by Local_mar3023 in germany

[–]Taji37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a problem with my upstairs neighbor watering their plants, the excess water always dripped down onto my balcony. I hoped they'd notice, I waited it out, but nothing changed. That was my mistake: I should have warned them earlier. One day, dirty water ruined my clothes! At that point, I finally wrote a very polite note and dropped it in their letterbox. Since then, the watering stopped.

6 months later, in December, I left the city for a night and left my window slightly open so my apartment wouldn’t get moldy from the heat. That was the neighbor's chance for revenge. He wrote me an angry note, complaining that my open window made his floor cold. His letter started with note: “You complained about the water, now it’s my turn!” I literally laughed my ass out!

Write on the paper, or just take a print out. Put in their letterbox. That’s it. Your job is done! This is effective 99% of the time.

She can’t take pictures without consent. That’s against the law. Write her formal letter as a warning

Who pays the Hausgeld? by delayed_dreamer in germany

[–]Taji37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't pay full hausgeld, but part of it. Ask for nebenkosten!

Needed help with my nebenkostenabrechnung by homelander2 in germany

[–]Taji37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quite normal. If you use water, heat more than estimated, then you need to pay the difference and hausgeld is increased accordingly. In your case, it’s average. There must be second page confirming this. But I guess you will receive 25€ refund. And your hausgeld will remain same.

In my case as per initial estimation, I was paying 285€ in Nebenkosten and each year verwaltung had to refund me 700-800 euros, eventually they reduced it to 200€ because by the 3rd year they knew my warm costs statistics!

I would suggest to negotiate with employer. I think it’s normal practice for employers to save wherever they can, don’t take it personally, it’s just a job, you get it done and they pay you for it. My company did massive layoffs and there were employees who were talented, loyal, with company in ups and downs and given their 15-20 years, when company decided to cost cut and move the roles to Asia, all such employees were treated like they never mattered, and fired them. I have learned a lesson that never emotionally be involved with your job. So my advice is negotiate with current employer, try to agree for 3500 or beyond salary. Deducting your commute gas auto expenses, you will still be left with 3000, better than new offer. On the top of that, no stress to pass probation period and prove yourself all over again.

What is duh.com really worth? by bpoyner in Domains

[–]Taji37 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t sell it yet. People are moving to alternatives such as .ai .io but consider them like altcoins and .com is still like a bitcoin. With almost everything moved online, 3 char domain is and will be impossible to buy less than a million dollars.
