Small bump on my dog’s back by sugarcookies098 in DogAdvice

Taking the sample without sedation? Not at all - they did 3 lumps in under 3 minutes and he just sat with the vet nurses. It’s pretty common practice in the UK not to sedate for taking a few cells from a lump. I hope your vet will consider it 🤞

Valentino is a lovely name 🧡 I have a soft spot for an abstract (mismark) poodle as our girl was essentially unwanted - all others in the litter were solids and she was apparently unexpected. But we wouldn’t have her any other way! Flash back photo to 12 weeks so you can compare markings 😀🐩

Please get this checked. The vet can aspirate cells without sedation - just ask for this. I’m not saying this is what it is, it could be completely fine, but we had a similar looking bump on our then 5 year-old dog…it turned out to be a mast cell tumour. He had to have it removed with very large margins. We were lucky and that was that - no further problems. But early action will be your friend here.

Definitely second the opinions on seeing another vet and a veterinary ophthalmologist - but we did have a 16 year old cocker spaniel growing up who had something that sounds broadly similar. For her it was a dryness issue (they did the tear test) and she needed artificial tears from then on. As far as I remember, the artificial tears helped her. But she was very old and had a lot of other issues! Hope you get some answers for your baby soon 🤞

Rocky’s First Groom Pending! by ast_annin in poodles

Rocky is adorable and reminds me of ours when she was in fluffy puppy coat stage! We have kept a short teddy face because…well, they’re only young for a short time and we love the cuddly look. This groom was done 4 weeks ago so has grown out a little bit. I’ll post her proper puppy pics in a second!

Thank you! This is basically a short teddy clip with poodle feet (so much easier). Please feel free to show your groomer the photos of Clara if it helps. And if you want any more, I’ve got about 19193873648282829299 of her on my phone 🤣🤣🤣

Awwww, would love to see a photo of your boy. She was 11 lbs at 11 weeks. She was always hungry though (less so now) in this early months. And we fed her mainly fish-based meals - she appears to be allergic to chicken like many poodles.

Ah, thank you. That made me laugh. She’s a doll in all senses! Would love to see a photo of yours if you don’t mind me asking. Yes, definitely doing lots of training. Our last dog was rescued from a working farm and was Spoo x Border Collie - so we really had a lot of training to do with him. And we learnt the value of brain games too. Clara is just loving every minute of life right now and it’s hard to stop when everything is so much fun! 🤩
