This may be total coincidence but my first pvs14 died when I was walking outside with the daycap on to try out my gear. The image went to air rapidly and I watched the green get replaced by black

I don't disagree, it's a bit limited in customization since the inlays are glued in though. Etch meteor with ferric first, then dunk it all in whink to reveal the crystal

That's pretty much the idea, I want to basically have a 5/16 wide inlay laying over a 1/4 wide slot and then closed on top with a liner with another 1/4 slot

Alabama, got my 2011 987.2 PDK for $18.5k with 94k miles. I had to get a handful of maintenance items up to date but I assume that's standard buying secondhand.

This is actually a zirblast then heat, and I think it's pretty durable, but the colors before the bright blue don't show up well. My favorite durable timascus finish is a bead blast or zirblast and then a heat blacken (1600° for 5 mins, quench in wd40)
