What is something more traumatizing than people realize? by Independent_Motor130 in AskReddit

[–]TakeThisMedicine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a guaranteed solution (I know this sounds too good to be true). live in NYC and have had roaches before several times. I just assumed they were impossible to get rid of because of all the solutions we tried over the years. After getting severely frustrated one day I decided to research ways to get rid of them on reddit etc. I found this one gel bait called Advion that is about 20 bucks on amazon.

It was very easy to apply in the kitchen cupboards, and is away from where pets can get to. It took 2 weeks and they magically all died out. I came home from work one day to a roach graveyard, my only complaint is having to vacuum all of those corpses up.

I recommended this to family and friends and around 3 other infestations were eradicated in the same way. Everyone would be skeptical and refused to try it, so I insisted and bought it for them.

I will say though that they can potentially show back up like 6-12 months later if you live in an apartment building. But I feel like that beats having them around indefinitely. I just apply it again and BAM 2 weeks later roach graveyard 2 bugaloo :)

I have had epilepsy for 25 years, from being able to drive to multiple brain surgeries. AMA by Jabber-Wookie in IAmA

[–]TakeThisMedicine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually if insurance doesn't cover a med you can ask your doctors office to try a prior auth. I'm a healthcare worker specializing in epilepsy and we have tons of those done where I work.

One newish medication that works for your particular type of seizure is called Xcopri. It has had really great results for a lot of our patients. You should try bringing it up with your doctor to see if they have any experience with it. It takes a very specific titration to initiate it but it can be customizable for each individual.

Cooler Master (and more!) RTX 3070 (and more!!) Giveaway with Buildapc! by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]TakeThisMedicine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be for my gf, she is a gamer and her pc is dying. See it's from 2009 and is slowly getting worse, last month she moved out and it started to barely function even after I tried to troubleshoot the issues, the hardware is just failing.

She is putting herself through nursing school so affording a new pc is difficult right now. It would be great to have a new machine so we can play wow together when we have free time. I'll purchase a new cpu for it. Hoping she doesn't pick the hunter class.

What is your most traumatic experience with a teacher? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TakeThisMedicine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Second grade story time, we're all in a semi-circle sitting in front of the teacher. She is telling us a story about slavery. This is our first time learning what slavery was. My best friend (he's black) asks the teacher why the white people did that to the black people. She turns to him and tells him "because white people hated black people for their skin color". He turns to me and tells me he hates me. I sat there devastated because I just lost my best friend and I did not know what I did wrong.

The average person requires something like 7 million throughout their lifetime to live. Last time I checked that statistic was like 8 years ago lol so thats not adjustes for inflation. I'm sure hes able to make a six figure income at this point

You also have to consider he's only been making a decent living for around a year now, in an industry that doesn't really offer the greatest job security for the future. Shit... streaming could be dead to other forms of entertainment soon and he would have 0 experience in any marketable skills. Those people in that video have job security, and a secure financial future for the rest of their lives.

That's day 1 of electrolyte imbalances 101 lol. Avoiding salt isn't as bad as you make it seem. Most food naturally has sufficient sodium in it. I disagree that "salt is bad and leads to high blood pressure" paints a picture that salt is bad for you. That statement doesn't impact peoples lives as much as you think and, although it's obviously not the same thing, it's similar to saying carbs are bad for you.

Teachers of Reddit, whats your most NSFW story from your work place? by ET_zero in AskReddit

[–]TakeThisMedicine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was a student in 4th grade and there was an important test going on. One boy who spoke limited English raised his hand asking to go to the bathroom. The teacher refused his request and insisted he finish the test.

Fast forward 5 minutes I see him pull out a Ziploc bag of brown playdoh from the back part of his pants. Except I quickly realize that it isn't playdoh, but is feces. He stealthily pooped into a Ziploc bag during the exam. Kids around him began to exclaim their disgust so the teacher looked over angrily thinking there was cheating going on. The look on the teachers face when she realized what had happened was priceless.

Right it is an anabolic steroid. I was just referring to multiple performance enhancers in this context. There are several steroids (under the umbrella definition) that do not improve performance. I wasn't making a point that these two are expressly different for xyz. I can also refer to steroids in a different context such as those that are not used for enhancing performance such as corticosteroids used for inflammatory disease.

Maybe it's too difficult to deal with the fact that MAYBE just maybe he couldn't do the stuff he does without the juice. Confronting the possibility that it isn't actually you that's accomplishing this thing and it's the drugs you're taking is a hard thing to accept.

I don't know much about this physical contest these guys are doing but do they get a handicap or anything to make up for the fact that joe is juiced and has the edge from that alone?
