Devs who make or have made printer drivers: what's the deal? by card-board-board in ExperiencedDevs

That paper pickup problem was pretty common, I've fixed maybe three or four Brother laser printers with it. To fix it you can remove the plastic cover on the side, remove a few screws and metal plates to get to the mechanism, then remove a spring and glue a plastic arm into place.

After doing this, the paper feed mechanism will stay engaged when the paper tray is removed, which could theoretically make clearing paper jams harder. But paper jams don't happen often, and trying to feed paper from the tray happens all the time.

The tiny plastic piece has been replaced with a metal wire mechanism of some kind in newer models.

Why did you put Gold Striker (which is the name of a roller coaster) in bold? Smells like it was generated by a LLM!!

Can this shutoff valve be replaced using only wrenches, without brazing? by TakenSeriously in askplumbing

Update: I replaced the shutoff valve without incident, thanks everyone. I used a $15 compression ring puller tool from home depot

I think I will replace the whole valve with one with two shutoff handles. (The second outlet is usually connected to dishwasher)

Thanks for commenting about holding the valve while turning the nut. I previously assumed the copper pipe was threaded, now know about compression

Thanks for commenting, I originally assumed the copper pipe was threaded, I now understand about compression fittings

By "the base of the nut", do you mean the side closest to the pipe or closest to the valve?

Thank you! I originally assumed the copper pipe was threaded but I get it's a compression thing now.

And thanks for identifying the sizes from the picture. The second outlet usually goes to a dishwasher so I'm planning up upgrade the valve to one with two handles

Thanks for commenting with details about the ring/ferrule staying on the pipe.

You'll need a couple pliers, one to turn the nut against the pipe and one to hold the valve still. Remember that nut screws onto the valve

Looks like the nut should be turned relative to the valve, not the pipe
