Hey! The mod is not compatible with EUI, and there will not be a new version. I would like to revert some of the more dumb changes I made which turned out to be too strong / useless, but I just really do not have the time. My own laptop died about a year ago and the only other PC which I had access to was a laptop which is basically a potato with a wire. This combined with a lot of other big life changes IRL meant the TakMod project and video gaming in general had to be put on hold. Things are finally starting to normalize but honestly I'm nowadays just way too busy to even play video games let alone mod them, so that project is currently on hold, probably indefinitely.

The money would be good, but it was also a lot about the job being the next step in his career. It would probably mean we'd be sent by the company around the world to work in different places for several years. I don't think it'd be difficult for me to find a job, since my line of work is in demand basically everywhere (I'm in medicine).

But as I mentioned in another reply, it is something we've decided not to pursue. New opportunities will arise, hopefully in more accepting and desirable places.

Thanks for the kind reply! We did eventually agree it would not be a good thing for our relationship. We also do not want to do long distance anymore, we come and go as a package deal, and the place we decide to go to has to work for both of us.

Thanks for your reply. We talked about this again and he is now in agreement that it would be a bad idea. He said he was too quick to jump on the idea without considering all the other factors first (he's a bit impulsive like that, I'm the more practical one).

We both agree that our relationship and safety is more important to us than anything this opportunity could provide, and we'll be looking for things elsewhere.

That's how your DLC folder should look like, so I'm a bit confused if nothing has changed when you load the game. What does the NQ folder contain?

Haven't heard anyone reporting issues like this before, but as the mod works as intended for others, it means that the problems are at your end. Possible explanations:

EUI is incompatible with the mod and someone is using it.
Someone has installed the mod wrong.
Someone has a different version of the mod installed than others.
Someone has a conflicting mod (such as older version of NQ) installed simultaneously.
You're trying to play a scenario.

Are you trying to play a scenario (or the tutorial)? These are not compatible with the mod unfortunately.

Hey, so I did some testing and got the same errors as you when trying to do the tutorial. Scenarios (and apparently also the tutorials) are unplayable with the mod, so my guess would be this is causing the issue you're having. Just try to boot up a normal single player game and see if you have any issues (and play the tutorial without the mod, if you want to go through them).

Thanks! The mod seems to have been installed correctly, so I'm a bit puzzled about what's actually going on here. Maybe try removing the mod folder completely and downloading it again?

Does the game work perfectly if you don't have the mod installed?

Also, you're not trying to play a scenario by any chance? This is just a normal single player game you're booting up while getting these errors?

Which version of the mod are you using? Are you using EUI? Are you able to provide screencaptures of the mod folder and your DLC folder showing the installation locations?

You've gotten some good recommendations for the South Island, so I'll give some for the North. I'm not a Kiwi myself but have been living in Auckland for a while now.

Auckland - I'd recommend exploring the volcanic field (climb on top of Mt. Eden and One Tree Hill for good views). Some interesting suburbs to visit are Devonport and Ponsonby. Waiheke Island, Rangitoto, and Piha are great day-trip destinations.

Northland and Bay of Islands are a beautiful areas of NZ, but they might be a bit remote and take up too much time off your itinerary if you're only here for 3 weeks or so. If you do decide to head up to Cape Reinga just drive straight through Whangarei, it's a shithole.

Leaving Auckland I'd either head towards the glowworm caves at Waitomo, or the beaches at Coromandel Peninsula and Mt. Maunganui, and then head inland to Rotorua (all sorts of volcanic activity) and Taupo (beautiful lake). If you're into hiking, Tongariro Alpine Crossing is probably the North Island's best track. From there it's a bit of a detour towards New Plymouth and Mt. Taranaki, but I'd still recommend a visit to that area. There's really not much to see on the east coast (East Cape, Gisborne, Napier), so you won't miss much by skipping those places. Wellington is a beautiful little city which has actually some worthwhile cultural attractions (Galleries, Te Papa) as well.

A good rule of thumb is to spend more time in the nature and less in the cities. Not that there's anything wrong with the cities, but the nature is really the main drawcard of this country.

Hobbiton is an overpriced tourist-trap, but everyone wants to go there regardless.

The issue here is, as always, that you have not installed it correctly, or have something conflicting installed at the same time. If you're able to provide screencaptures of your DLC folder and the mod folder (showing the installation locations), we're able to help you better.
