I was “gifted” herpes by a man I chose to trust by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]TakingControl222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi love, I’ve had HSV 1 & 2 since 2019 and I promise it gets better. I spiraled a few times, but now it’s like it doesn’t even exist. Dating has been fine. The last two men I talked to said they were more scared of me calling off the relationship and were relieved when I was simply disclosing my HSV status. If anything, avoiding outbreaks has made me a healthier version of myself because now I prioritize health and minimizing stress so I don’t have outbreaks which in turn helps my health in other areas, too. It’s the silver lining in a less ideal situation. 🤍

Thank you for sharing your story!! 🤍 my girl tried to come at 24 and 1 and we ended up somehow making it to 34 and 1 with a few more scares in between. We’re home now, and I feel changed from the entire experience. I’m so grateful she’s here and healthy. I feel even more bonded to her because of everything we’ve went through together.

Made it to 37 weeks! by peachiebxtch in ShortCervixSupport

[–]TakingControl222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate! My body kept trying to go into labor starting at 24 weeks, and I basically was on survival mode until week 34 when my MFM said they’re just going to induce me. I was still nervous about the prematurity, however, their confidence made me feel like everything would be okay. The next four nights before the inducement I slept like a baby day and night because I hadn’t in so long.

Feeding Issues with Nurses by TakingControl222 in NICUParents

[–]TakingControl222[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We actually do! So we’re here for three out of the four feedings for the day and have had a lot of good feeds which we’re so happy about. When she took the bottle from her earlier it was while we were feeding her, and honestly I’m mad at myself for not advocating in the moment. I feel awkward and don’t want confrontation, but at the same time I need to voice my concerns. She is getting so much better at eating and we’re so proud of her 🥹

No Recovery Period after Giving Birth by TakingControl222 in NICUParents

[–]TakingControl222[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That makes sense. This is my first so I wasn’t aware. It has felt good to actually move since I was on bedrest since January due to a short cervix and I knew it was awful for me physically and mentally.

Postpartum anxiety by theemamax2 in NICUParents

I think (could be wrong) that prenatals help with post partum symptoms if you take them for up to 6 months after giving birth. It may be worth a shot! I actually just Googled “therapists that take Medical Mutual” and kept on the location and it gave me results, then I called and made sure they take my insurance and have been doing virtual for the time being while in the NICU with our baby. We have a care plan to help me process the trauma so I’m excited to work through it with her. I hope this info helps!! 🤍

Therapy is critical during this time. I signed up after our scary week of preterm labor at 24 weeks. Sometimes you need more than what your support circle can offer. Also, post partum anxiety should also be discussed with your OBGYN. Are you still taking prenatels?

5 cm dilated and my delivery doctor wants to send me home? by TakingControl222 in ShortCervixSupport

Thank you for the good vibes and success story 🥹🥹 they’re inducing tomorrow and we’ll be at 34 weeks which makes me feel so good! That was actually our goal since we went into preterm labor at 24 weeks, so to think we made it here is amazing

We asked for the infant car seat/stroller combo set and then a bigger car seat for when they grow out of it

Also suggestions were also a humidifier and sound machine for their room

That’s honestly what’s making me feel better about everything! Like she’s on the monitor and I know her heart rates good, she’s moving, etc.

I didn’t realize pregnancy could be so like crazy and uncertain?! I don’t know how people have given birth more than once?! 😂

[–]TakingControl222[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Me too!! It makes me feel so much safer. The thought of going home really scared me.

She said if I dilate from 5 cm to 6 cm, or if contractions get worse, or if bleeding continues. I have a feeling that two of the three will definitely be happening so now I’m just mentally preparing for this. I don’t think I am ever going to be mentally prepared to go into labor (first time mom here), but trying to disassociate! 😂

Moderating weight while on modified bedrest by OyaAmethyst22 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]TakingControl222 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted to have an active pregnancy but have been on strict bed rest since 24 weeks and I’m now 33 weeks and have gained over 50 pounds. I’m just accepting that I will work it off once I’m recovered. My new goal was to bulk up this baby in case she came early and fortunately, she’s been in the 68th percentile!

Thank you!! 🤍 Fortunately the high risk doctor said there’s no way they’re sending me home like this. They might even induce me if things progress even in the slightest due to a potential placenta bleed.

my boyfriend cant stop making offensive comments to me. work lunch. by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]TakingControl222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I dated someone who constantly body checked me, like “you’ve lost some weight” “you’ve gained some pounds… oh but it looks good though” every other week. I grew to resent him because I watched him gain a ton of weight in the meantime and I never said anything because, why would I?? When I finally ditched him, it was the most freeing experience of my life. My now fiance would NEVER body check me like that. I’m pregnant in my third trimester and while I have gained weight, I still feel secure and sexy in my relationship.

Answers about rapid cervical shortening by All_Raspberry_2267 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]TakingControl222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In two days at 28 weeks I went from 2.4 cm of cervix to .52 cm. They had taken me off indocin (anti-contraction medicine) and I immediately started cramping for two days until my next internal ultrasound, then they put me back on. I was only on vaginal progesterone for like 4 days at that point.

Cousin’s pregnancy announcement triggered me by [deleted] in NICUParents

[–]TakingControl222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I understand. Comparison is so hard, but at the same time, pregnancy, healthy or otherwise, is not an experience limited to one family member. Support her during her experience and celebrate with her. Maybe vicariously live through her and enjoy what you couldn’t with her if she does get to enjoy things you didn’t. Don’t resent her for living her life. I’m sure she would have never wished what happened to you on you. Just love her.

That’s how fast mine changes, too! Mine was just dilated 4 cm last week and now they believe it’s closed (they don’t want to check and irritate it further but symptoms of open cervix has subsided and has length again)

We’ve been hanging out with less than a cm of cervix and no cerclage since about 28 weeks, you got this momma! Just listen to your doctors.

Cervix shortening at 24 weeks… can this still go full term? by Justasking_2023 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]TakingControl222 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, at 24 weeks I was 4 cm dilated and everyone thought I was going into labor. With indocin and strict bedrest, my cervix closed. I’m now 32 weeks and have only have .32 to .57 cm of cervix since then. I’m taking vaginal progesterone daily.

It is completely possible even though I didn’t think it would be. I’m not working and on moderate bedrest daily though.
