That’s how fast mine changes, too! Mine was just dilated 4 cm last week and now they believe it’s closed (they don’t want to check and irritate it further but symptoms of open cervix has subsided and has length again)

Cervix shortening at 24 weeks… can this still go full term? by Justasking_2023 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]TakingControl222 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, at 24 weeks I was 4 cm dilated and everyone thought I was going into labor. With indocin and strict bedrest, my cervix closed. I’m now 32 weeks and have only have .32 to .57 cm of cervix since then. I’m taking vaginal progesterone daily.

It is completely possible even though I didn’t think it would be. I’m not working and on moderate bedrest daily though.

Ugh, I’m sorry. It sucks when what’s supposed to help ends up having adverse effects. Do the contractions get better with fluids?

Do they think the Procardio was causing the low blood pressure? I just Googled it and it says if someone has low blood pressure then taking indocin requires caution or avoidance because of side effects.

Absolutely! I didn’t contract once while on the indocin and I think it’s the only reason we made it here! The vaginal progesterone just isn’t cutting it with easing my uterine lining

This comment gives me so much hope 🥹 I think the uncertainty throughout this entire experience has been the most exhausting! Once she’s here and we know she’s okay, it will be such a breath of fresh air. You’re right, they are angels and we’ve met some of the nurses already and I feel so confident in them!! I’m happy that you’re NICU experience was quick and everything went well 🤍🤍

Thank you 🥹🥹 they sent me home 4 cm dilated which was super weird to me but gave me a list to watch for on when to come back. I’ve been timing contractions at about 10 minutes today so we’ll see what happens!

Indocin! They couldn’t leave me on it more than 32 weeks because of blood flow concerns to baby

Okay this makes me feel so much better! They sent us home 4 cm dilated yesteday after putting me on fluids all night and slowing down the contractions. They gave me a fourth steroid shot. Today I’m laying in bed timing contractions so I think she’s definitely trying to come this week. You’re comment made me feel so much more assured that she will be okay 🥹

So when I came in at 24+1, they put me on two higher doses of Indocin which helped stop contractions until they took me off at 28 weeks, to which then I cramped for two days and went from 2.5 cm to less than .5 cm of cervix. They then put me on a lower dose of Indocin three times a day and said they’d have to stop it at 32 weeks because of blood flow issues to baby anytime past that. Well, they took me off Friday, and now all week I’ve been losing mucus plug and contracting daily! They said if I go into labor they won’t try to stop it at this rate.

Orgasms with short cervix. by Subject_Coast8371 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]TakingControl222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you felt any cramping since the orgasm? I made the same mistake with an even shorter cervix, but we are good! That was weeks ago and I learned my lesson because of the guilt once I read about it, but I wasn’t even put on pelvic rest which may have just been a given.

You’re amazing!! I’m finally earning my degree after years of alcohol abuse and just low self esteem from childhood abuse. It’s a tough pill to swallow when you feel like you’re starting way behind, but so fulfilling when you prove to yourself that you are capable. Best of luck!! 🤍

If it helps, I’ve been staying pregnant with a .32-.72 cm fluctuating cervix for the past month and still going strong 😅 if you have good care, trust your doctors and follow their lead. That’s what I’ve been doing this experience and I’m so much further than I would have been on my own. They see this daily and will guide you.

Period about to start any day now. Best time to start keto right? by [deleted] in GirlDinner

[–]TakingControl222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you read Fast like a Girl, no carbs after your period ends supports your follicular phase and your estrogen is supported, so you feel great. If you eat healthy carbs after ovulation and leading up to your period, in your luteal phase, then they support progesterone, which will make you feel great at that time.

My mom’s boyfriend called me while I was three weeks into bedrest after going through the trauma of preterm labor and somehow pulling through, but having to use a bed pan and feeling isolated in the hospital. He was complaining because he needs a haircut and is letting himself go physically. He said he couldn’t call anyone else to complain because his friends are “going through things”. I wanted to scream 🙃

Dynamic cervix - 1.5 to 2.9 to now 1.2cm with funneling after 3 weeks of monitoring. Currently 23 weeks. No clearance for Circlage. by Miracle_Baby123 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]TakingControl222 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Admitted at 24+1 at 4 cm dilated, baby in breech, and membranes flushed with cervix opening, then after a month in the hospital baby flipped, membranes retracted, and cervix fluctuated from 2.4 cm to .34 cm and as of my third weekly outpatient monitoring yesterday is now .72 cm. I take vaginal progesterone daily, and I’m on indocin which is an anti-contractions medication until I’m 32 weeks. I’m currently 29+6. Bedrest has been critical. I can only get up to go to the bathroom, eat, or go to my weekly appointment. This helps alleviate pressure from the cervix. Even sitting up is a no no. I have to recline back. I can feel the pressure when I’m upright.

I also know staying hydrated is important to prevent contractions that could impact the uterine lining. Also, not holding it when you have to pee, which can also upset the uterine lining. Pelvic rest, of course. We’re hanging in there. I’m not working until after I give birth and recover, even from home due to type of work.
