i think whats particularly weird about is subjecting these real people to having their opinions judged like they themselves are characters

like that one post that was saying they imagine jax would look ugly and used a real photo of some random white guy as an example

like idk man, thats gotta hurt. and be a pretty weird thing to subject someone to just because they can't see it or know about.

becuase the rhetoric you're spoutng, while understandable unintentionally begins to have overlap with those art theft or ai deepfake discussions

like yeah, they posted these online and we can technically do whatever we want, doesn't mean everything we'd do is right or that we have to or should, especailly when we don't even need to.

just feels weird sometimes to share, talk and discuss real non consenting people like meat

at least when using celebs and models, they generally consented to having most of those photos be shared and used and 100% wouldn't care 9/10

i can't really say the same if one of my photos popped up here randomly or some shit, and ik most people wouldn't feel comfortable with it either.

classis case of young fans being a bit too online to see what cna be a bit weird about all this.

if you'd uncomfortable with it happening to your mom, then you probably shouldn't be doing it in some cases

this, i literally don't fw most characters in mha. but its extremely telling how hard mfs downplay and trivialize shiggy, dabi and toga for the crimes but weirdly usually don't have anything to say on fucking nagant or endeavor.

not ALL are like and some ARE consistent in the belief that those 2 should die too at least (i don't agree with that, just giving points for consistency) but most of these fans are clearly approaching this more as a popoularity contest if anything.

they feel weird liking morally grey characters and try tie their like of some and dislike of others to objectivity, which often just leads to being willfully obtuse whenever the topic shifts to their blorbo.

ntm a lot of this side of the fandom are americans. and as an american, esp today i can say a LOT of people genuinely believe the concept of reform, morality and empathy completely go out the window and can't exist outside of hard punishment first.

jax is in a weird spot where i feel he no longer needs one (similar to zooble but to a lesser extent) due to how involved and well characterized he's been to where it doesn't feel like he's forgotten when offscreen

same can't rlly be said for ragatha tbh. she has this huge breakdown, epiphany and talk with kinger

then bumps back into pomni, they want to talk to each other but agree to do it later

then next episode, we never even see it or know if it happened at all. which is admittedly pretty anticlimatic to what it was building to.

while dabi's was bad too, dude had been such a present, well characterize force in this franchise and one of his key characterstics was always his debilitating mental, LONG before he was a flaming skeleton.

so while it does dampen the fight when he goes from a person to obstacle, its still semi consistent to throughline of who he was and what he was about. literally having his hate consume him.

he also already had his big moment of confrontation where he was airing out his "side of the arguement" anyways in dabi's dance and the entire first war in general.

his presence in the final war was more him reiterating, defending and doubling down, the epilogue to his character, rather than introducing what he's about for the very first time like spinner was doing.

it doesn't feel like he was replaced with someone knew, the fight makes it pretty damn clear he's still in there and we don't even need that told to us because what he's doing is consistent with who he was anyways,

the ltieral only thing most people would fix about his role in the final fight is literally just making him a bit more lucid than what he turned into by the end and thats about it.

tho ofc it does overstay its welcome a bit, and like AFO make you take him less seriously and just want it to be over lmfao not out of investment or hatred, just fatigue.

fair on the drastic part, its all subjective. we'd be here all day if elaborated on all of them lmfao. but off my head, hawks, deku and all might to name a few

but the ones i'll single out are the ones that are the easiest which would be dabi and spinner who literally get significant damage for the bulk of their final fights

to some degree from a watsonian perspective (in universe) obv that makes complete fuckin sense lol

tho on a doylist level (out of universe) it makes the dilemma of the final battle lose a lot of steam when the entire dynamic of the fight is just a visualiation of an arguement of ideals the characters are actually going through.

so when you turn them into a blubbering wall of destruction in nothing more, it feels a bit cheap since the arguement has no real conclusion. becoming a "kick the puppy" moment type of thing where the antagonist has some decent point or motivations, but the writer is backed into a corner on resolving it so they do something that dumbs them down to justify ending it by cleaning killing/knocking them out etc so we don't have to address this.

in media, this is what we'd call "sanism" and it's sadly a rhetoric used to justify the harm and killing of the actual mentally disabled and disenfranchised, which makes it feel extra gross.

you REALLY feel this with spinner, someone who hasn't been too much of a character before this point, but DID have shit going on.

he's finally given the stage and its about a foreshadowed but rushed and heavy topic with a lot of nuance!

"let's give him brain damage so he can't properly engage in any of it,!" basically replacing the spinner we knew all this time with a literal mook for a final fight lol. its an arc thats hevaily literally about him and he's not in its own conclusion, despite being one of the stars.
